Mate driving or riding you have to start somewhere. As long as she is sensible (which she is) and takes things easy she will be ok. She has to keep an eye out for every other road user like the rest of us as bike's have less crushability then cars but if she loves it like she appears to i'd say let her do it. Bikes are dangerous at the best of times and in the wrong hands can be deadly but taking things slowly, practicing manovers taught at ridersafe, and experience will all help her to ride safer and better. One thing is she needs to practice more regularly as i remember when i was starting out leaving riding for a week or so i would notice a decline in my smoothness in gear changing etc so more regular riding and practice will gain her experience and ultimately make her a safer rider and driver in the long run.
youve made some good points there mate
im just being over-concerned for her safety is all, as im sure you can understand
my parents basically telling me most of my life that theyd kick me out of home
if i ever got a bike kinda made me anti-bike, until i eventually rode my first bike

but not regularly, only every now and then and not on the road is when i do it
dirt biking, now thats what im talking about

Its ok im a miserable wet blanket too

I personally prefer having a tank of a car surrounding me when im out on the road
I have a friend who got her bike license first like Monica & shes had no problems what so ever as she is very cautious & understands how vunerable she is on a motorbike. Its a risk but shes very sensible & isnt a hoon.
I on the other hand decided to get my car license first & had a nasty crash after having my p's for less then a month (& it wasnt even my fault).
My point is that your taking a risk being on the road whether your in a car or on a bike, so the best thing you can do is watch out for the idiots & be as safe as you can in the way that you drive/ride.
Had i been on a bike i couldve avoided my accident completely
Monica- just dont turn out to be one of those $@#! riders who speed & overtake in unsafe spots or ill personally come & slap some sense into you

I've had enough of having to run off the road to avoid idiots who take stupid risks

of course everybody is taking a risk being on the road whether its on a bike, in a
car, on the bus or even on a pushbike!! ive had my fair share of accidents in cars,
one putting me in hospital after i went through the windscreen after colliding with
a tree at 90 odd kms/ph, being a passenger i got the most injured in the crash..
but i hate to think if i was on a bike at the time, i wouldnt be here to tell the story
