Anthems Cocktails

Well being the big fan of alcohol that I am and always on the hunt for a new mix...does anyone have some of their favourite cocktail recipies they'd like to share?? Any cute ways of decorating? Why is it your fav and any special memories attached?

Can be shots too!! Then all us (overage) anthemites should have a big night and try some of them out!! hehehe
not to leave out the underagers tho....there are many faux cocktails you can make too!!



Heres a start:

Had this in a resort in Fiji a few years back..normally im not one for milky drinks but it was fantastic!!

Slide Your Thigh
2/3 measure banana liqueur
2/3 measure Midori
2/3 measure creme de cacao
2 measures cream
ice
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker, shake and strain into a
cocktail glass. Decorate with a cherry and sprinkle with grated chocolate.



Also I know you can get an appletini mix that comes with green rimmer sugar!! Yum

The Original Sang Special enough for 3 or more

Ingredients
A shot or 15ml of Midori
3 shots or more vodka (any will do...try raspberry flavour)
2 shots or 30ml of triple sec
3 or 4 cups of pineapple or orange juice
2 teaspoons of raspberry cordial
soda/tonic water
crushed ice (but cubed is fine)

1. Fill a hiball glass or tall glass 3/4 of a way with crushed ice.
2. In a blender, pour the shots of vodka, midori and juice; and blend for a minute.
3. Strain the contents of the blender into the glass.
4. Pour the soda/tonic water into the glad nearly filling it to the top and then stir.
5. Using a small teaspoon, layer the triple sec on top of each drink.
6. Flip the same teaspoon over and use tiny amounts of raspberry cordial to make droplets into the drink. It creates a nice layered effect.

It's a sweet drink but potent. I also have made a Chartreuse variation but Chartreuse is so expensive to get a hold of.

An anthems cocktail party would be awesome. Depending on how it's organised. Can work out to be quite a hole in the pocket if not thought through well...

You know what would be good? Making those Illusions and putting them in the test tubes like they used to have at Big Ticket. An alternative to doing shots

Dan Murphy's does cheap liquor as does my work but I have to get cash upfront for that before ordering. Also have a mate that is an Assistant Manager at BWS in Enfield (I think) that might give me a discount.

Most importantly...who's place or what venue??

If it's at a venue it will probably be easier...Otherwise you have to get people to bring certain bottles of liquor to perform such cocktail drinking, and that could get tricky, and gross...

Well heres the recipe anyway...

Flaming Homer (before Moe ripped it off)
Ingredients
1 oz. Brandy
1/2 oz. Blackberry Liquer
1 oz. Creme de Menthe
1 oz. Pineapple Juice
1 oz. Sloe Gin
2 tbsp. Grape Cough Syrup(Krusty Non-Narkotik Kough Syrup)

Directions
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Add crushed ice and shake well. Strain into cocktail glass. Light on fire.

if everybody brings a bottle as entry fee, it wont be hard to organise at all...

Yeah. We could make out a list of alcohol and designate who brings or buys what. That should cover it.

The only 'cocktail' me and my friends came up with is what we like to call;

"Ninja Zombie Monkey Pirate with lasers"

One (or two) parts Bacardi Rum
Fill glass with Vanilla Coke.

Years ago when i use to go to the Players bar some barman made me a inhaler. God knows what it was. It was some sought of shot. What he did is set the bugger on fire then i had to put my hand over it to put it out downed it quickly then with a straw sucked in all the fumes. Boy did it drop me but i went back by memory like 4 times that night buying them

At the moment one of my fav shots is at the crown and anchor its called Toffee Apple. every time im there im drinking them. Got a mate onto them and on sat night we spent like $50 on them

Had an awesome cocktail or 3 on Sunday.
It was called a Moheto or something.

Had crushed ice with some mint leaves that were ground into the ice then had 2 shots and i think one was whit rum not sure about the other.

Had an awesome curry taste to it!!

umm theres a really nice cocktail bar on Hindley st....I used to know the guy managing there. might pop in tomorrow night and see if they can do something for us...not a huge place tho, but nice and relaxed...umm theres un underground looking place next to it and theres a few steps that lead up into the club...sits inbetween chaos cafe and rockford hotel.

We have scrambled eggs at our local pub and they knock you for six!!

One shot bacardi
One shot advocaat

Pour bacardi shot in large shot glass , add advocaat on top should layer like a scrambled egg . Once in glass quickly whisk with straw for a minute then down it cover the top of the glass with your hands re enter the straw under your hand then inhale the fumes.

It's called a Mojito. It's made with rum, brown sugar, mint leaves and other ingredients that I'm not too sure of as there are many variations of it. It's all mashed to exhume the flavours and tastes.
