After the massive success and unbelievable vibe of our two rooms at christmas.anthems... we return to the Arkaba this Adelaide Cup Long Weekend Sunday March 11. We’re firing up the second room again, giving you the ultimate weekend of indulgence for both old school lovers and trance fans alike.

After playing a major part in the foundation of the Adelaide clubbing scene, the Arkaba has once again re-established itself as a premier entertainment venue. Now you can be apart of history in this venue, almost untouched since the days when legendary acts like Carl Cox, Lenny D, Westbam and Frank De Wulf played regularly. For those that were there the first time, relive one of the most special eras in Adelaide's dance music history, and for those that weren't, come and take a history lesson with a difference!

DJs for the extra special event are Andy J, ATB, Davin, Howlett, Jayse, Solace, Mr S and Maestro D with limited online discount VIP Door List now on sale for $20 with no booking fees from [anthems.com.au] so get your tickets now!. Or from Venue*tix from $28 plus fees.

shen6 Feb 2007, 1:32pm

lol a manual chair!!
oh those desk chairs with wheels... if he starts wheeling 100m away real fast.. u sit with your desk chair by the ramp waiting, then he'll gather enough speed to push yous both up the ramp. Hopefully you guys won't go up halfway and then get stuck & slowly slide downwards. that would be hillarious! I'll video record it on my phone

it reminds me of friends.. where ross wore leather pants on a date.. and it got sooo hot he had to take it off in his date's bathroom to cool off.. but when it cooled, he couldn't put them back on again cuz they expanded.. or rather his legs expanded... was funny.

shenr17 Feb 2007, 1:49am

it was a tv show... that season of friends was prob like 1998 or something haha.
No it wasn't he was burning up apparently it was really hot in those pants ahhaha it's soo gay u gotta watch that episode.. i'll try to find it 4 u when i get back from malaysia haha
And also, cuz he couldn't put the pants on, he called joey and joey told him to put talcum powder on it... but it didn't work, so ross decided to wash it off.. water+talcum all over his legs with the pants down = it did not look right at all.

If I have my way everyone will call events discos from now on.

OMG! What a crankin' night

had an awesome time

*smp*12 Mar 2007, 7:41am

I got there awfully late, but when Mr S. dropped 'Cheap Rent by Karim'

So good to hear a few of the old classics on a huge speaker system again......ah, the memories

{Bunny}12 Mar 2007, 1:51pm

I had a pretty awesome time last night

Found it extremely hard to drag myself away from the Trance room downstairs

Upstairs just wasn't doing it for me...And needless to say, I left shortly after downstairs closed...

Andrew Howlett...Hunny, what can I say, other than THANK YOU!!! You were supreme last night and your Deck Presence was like a fever, so catchy

Can't wait to see you spin again

Shout outs going out to everyone that I saw last night

howlett12 Mar 2007, 2:01pm

that was equal to the best night of my life

I ended up playing 9-1030 on my own, 1030-1130 b2b with davin then till 2 b2b with solace and to say the least had a fraking BALL! Pretty much was on the biggest natural high one can be on, and the way people were going so hard to the trance sound was more than rewarding.

Massive thank you to Paul and Davin for making me part of the night, Paul for your words afterwards and Solace for the b2b Madness and enjoyment that was 3 hours of mayhem of us battling it out and me raving behind the decks.

Wow. I still cant believe how good that night was

Oh, and sorry to Mr S...i now know your stand on whistles, but i was having a ball using it while mixing

nice work!

thanks to those of you who visited me last night

i enjoyed playing security.. was able to see downstairs from where i stood- so was able to still really enjoy my night

sorry to the guy whos cds were taken... hopefully you get your hands on a copy

i had a great time

Agree with above posts about the downstairs room... music was cranking!!!!

Would have been great having that music upstairs!!! Nice work on the lighting being darker downstairs too and the decor was so pretty

Great night!

Oh that was you at the start of the night.. I was loving your tunes.. I was wondering who you were so now I know. I was impressed to see how pumped you were behind the decks bopin up and down even tho at the very start the floor was empty. some fantastic tracks both at the begining and later in the night when I saw u again.

Big thumbs up to you mate!

As for the night in general.. I had a ball! I was slightly worried at the start of the night because the crowd was slow to turn up. But then all the regulars and great faces were pouring in.

The anthems tradition of seeing so many old and new friends is only toped by the gold class tracks I know I'll hear at an anthems show

I was loving it upstairs once it got rolling.. had an absolute ball dancing with Ike Vinyl and Sang. good work boys!

And when they droped the DnB version of Fugees - Ready or not up in the top room I was 5heart beats away from a full heart attack!

frakn i want more! GIMMIE GIMMIE GIMMIE!

Mwahs to everyone I saw last night. was good catching up.

P.S. A friend from Melb says anthems rocks... he wants it over there. I told him melb dont deserve it. and he agreed noting hes moving to adelaide later in the year
