Adelaide Music Scene Vs The Rest Of Australia

As some of you know i have recently moved to Perth, its a nice place and all but the music scene here is very different to Adelaide.

There is a major lack of Electronica and makes me miss Adelaide every weekend.
Their version of Fresh Fm (Groove) plays 90% American Hip hop and RnB and maybe 1 in 15 songs is a "Dance" song, and it it is its just the normal Commercial Nova shit.

I dunno if its just me being home sick or if it really does lack over here.

So where have you been around Australia and how do you think it compares to the Adelaide scene?

Sydney, which is where I was born and grew up is very Dance orientated, their main club (I think it's called Home) is at Homebush and fits 40,000+ people and costs about $40 to get in I think, and I know Melbourne is very house/dance orientated although I have never been there, but is the home to the likes of Dirty South, Ivan Gough etc but the dance scene here is good. Did you get the chance to go to HQ?

Well brapdat... i'm in perth atm!! There is no hardcore scene here at all, there is barely any candy... I listened to every station to try n find the best electronic i can, and all i found is DnB, 101.7, and groove 103.7... i think... Apart from that, nova, and my Music downloads is all i'm livin by!!! SAVE ME!!!!

Adelaide has one of the best scenes, cos there's a selection of everything u want...
there's Trance, theres Psy, there's Hardcore, there's DnB, there's a shitload of hardhouse, and even a fair bit of Nrg n hardstyle out n about now... so massive variety in electronica...

I think adelaide has one of the most diverse scenes in australia, where not everyone agrees one genre is the best there is, and thats final... so thats why i love it so much!!!

Yeah i have to agree, its not just the music is the whole scene, the culture, the people, the atmosphere and just the way that Adealde goes off.

Yeah, definately the scene in adelaide is great... Whatever ur in the mood for u have it... i guess i take it for granted when i'm there, but now that i'm in perth for now, i realise what these poor perth people have to put up with! not to mention the lack of style here... :S

Yeah it is terrible.

The clubs are big, layed out ok, Audio is good, but the music selection is puss, Justin Timberlake backed up with Pendulum the topped off with Nirvana in the main room on a Saturday night at 2am doesnt really do it for me.

I haven't been outside of Adelaide much dance wise...but I still really appreciate the scene 'n' culture here

my sisters a raver in sydney but her attitude and that of her friends doesn't include all that PLUR... maybe i'm biased cos we like chalk 'n' cheese

I've been to perth and it's fkn americanized there and when i put hardcore on a got shunned i soon found out that if the people your with look up to you, you tell them what to like alternativly take a knife to the office and demand

I've been to Melbourne and the hardcore scene there is shit, there's plenty of hard dance clubs but it's all hardstyle, hard nrg, hard trance, hard techno etc i haven't been anywhere else since i've liked dance music
