Top Gear: Cant Kill A Toyota Hilux

Hello all

Being a Toyota fan and seaching youtube for "toyota" I found these clips of a special Topgear did on trying to destroy a Toyota Hilux! Note I said "trying"

Basically they try to destory this 15 year old Toyota hilux. starting off with driving it into trees, and buildings, then getting more serious and suberging it in sea water for 5 hours, droping a caravan on top of it, attacking with with a demolition ball, setting it on fire, and even putting it on top of a 21 story apartment block thats being demolished using explosives. yes you read right.. 21 story building!!

The mechanic had to try and get it running after each of these tests, useing NO spare parts and only basic tools (spanners, hammer, crowbar and WD40).

After each of these tests the hilux started, and was even driveable!!

Impossable u must think?? If you dont beleive me.. watch it

No wonder my Celica took 6 years of my thrashing the hell out of it before it finally died (and still then it drove.. just not well)

i haven't watched the clips but i know from personal experience how good the toyota 4wd's are. if you need any further proof go into the outback and see for yourself the proportion of toyotas that are still running while all other cars/trucks/vehicles just rust in the dust ...

yeah i have the episode here, they end up putting it on top of a building that is getting demolished then blowing up the building...

they found the car body in the rubble, and it STILL ran

i had an 84 hilux and they are awesome!!!

That's funny as hell - and it's nice to know they made (and hopefully still make) their vehicles with durability in mind!

That thing is a beast!

the best part is, in the lastest series, jeramy made one into a boat (the toybota) rolled it so it was upside down, accidentaly filling the engine with water and killing the invincable car!

classic...that thing just won't bloody give up...little idignant about the 'australia and other third world countries' remark... sod off, jeremy!

me work car is an old corolla or as i like to call it rolla. it now has parts from about 4 other corollas but still going strong thankyou u pull it

i love the stuff like this top gear do, cant wait till there back on tv. watching it now, bbahahaitt great
