Help - I'm Unemployed!

Okay, so here's the dealio - I've unofficially lost my job due to a problem I have with my wrist and my boss being an asshole.

So now I desperately need a job... Like... In the next few days. Ideally I would like to be working again by next Monday.

What I need is something thats not laborous (something like an office job) and something that reasonably structured - 9 to 5 monday to friday.

Hills or CBD is the best area for me and anywhere else thats close to the hills or the CBD is fine.

I'm very computer literate, and I'm good with numbers. I'm willing to work hard and I'm desperate!!

Looking at a wage of $12+ an hour.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thankyou!

I was temping for over 5 years and the *best* recuitment agency is Locher. They bascially kept me employed the whole time and rarely didnt have work for me, and most of the time you will be offered a fulltime position when you go and work for something... try them, its worth it I promise smile.gif

Maccas isn't terrible work as long as you find the right spot for you. I worked for a year on counter when I was 16 and I hated it but when I turned 18 and needed a job I worked in the kitchen at a different Maccas and it was heaps better.

PLEASE! I NEED A JOB!!

I need an income, i seriously cant live without one, my 'rents will happily watch me rot before they give me a cent. And I'm already running low on supplies... $300 when i posted this is now down to $200. Eeeeeek!
Oldskoolie
fack dude!

Good luck...

What have you done so far to get a job?
DeL
u got a licence?

full licence or P plates at least? located where??

willing to travel if needed. i usually woudlnt advise anyone to work where i do.. but if ur desperate its better than nothing.

plenty of car rental companies require " automotive detailers" that are willingt o work flexible hrs. anything from 7am-10pm, we had a guy quite friday, could be some hrs going.

PM if ur really depserate. ( im trying to quit at moment hence why i say.. only if ur desperate. as tho its not a bad job, some times the bullshiut gets too much to handle.
Unbalanced
Well, I'm not that desperate Del, lol - thanks heaps though man!
Seriously, thanks a bunch.

And Oldskoolie - Ive applied to about 10 office jobs, signed up to 3 or 4 of those employment things online, tomorrow im heading into town to hand out some resumes.

I spose im being a little to fussy... But still. The call for help is still there!
Thanks folks!

There's soooooooooo much hospitality work out there at the moment, it's not funny. All my customers are on the hunt!! Not sure if it would suit, given the fact that you have a problem with your wrist - but there certainly is plenty to choose from out there right now!

yeah cant be too fussy in your position. you could always just get any old job to pay the bills and keep looking elsewhere. the works always there if you want it.

tried call centres?

Stuff applying online - Try ringing them and requesting a personal interview with the agencies.....then they'll get to actually meet you, and therefore are more likely to help you out if they have a clue as to who you are, what you look like etc etc.....this is what I did, and I got offered 7 jobs within my first week of interviews, all set up through agencies!!!!

Try Hudsons, Challenge, and Hays as they deal specifically in 'office' type positions...good luck!!! smile.gif

or you could just move to Thailand and sell dried fish and petrol on the side of the road.

drop into some temp agencies matey - they are begging to sign people up who have the skills and even if they only give you temp work it's better than nothing! You'll be hard pressed to walk straight into a full time permanent job these days! Most work out there in offices is temp or contract.
