On top of all this, there are bound to be a lot of industry types there on the day, looking out for raw talent.

Even if you don't win one of the designated prizes - good things will only happen if you actually get out there and perform.

So show us what you've got, have a bit of fun, and with any luck kick off that career in music you've been wanting smile.gif

*Edit: Oh, and if you're not interested in performing - you're free to come along and watch the competition, of course!!

What about me asshole tongue.gif do you have to be in uni or tafe?

From what I understand the set are only 10 to 15 mins long, so you will ahve to be very creative in how you drop in each song, definetly could not play full songs with that sort of time frame. Think of it as speed mixing a lot of fun to watch and do I think. If I could mix I'd do it just for the laughs involved biggrin.gif
Cetra3r
Far out, this looks like it could be fun!!! I'm signing up!
Maori Messiahr
I wish i could, i'd bone cetra laugh.gif
NokturnLr
Hmm, have to work on my speed mixing then... smile.gif Shouldn't be too hard with trance! tongue.gif
Maori Messiahr
yeh trance is gay laugh.gif you should learn to scratch mix
NokturnLr
Ah i'm not massive on scratch mixin... I'm more of a beat juggler than a scratcher... hope it wins the crowd... i'm prolly gonna apply soon... then start practicing asap... tongue.gif
march Er
this looks awesome pity i dont have the required tunes, equipment or skills to apply...

migh check it out tho.
scatteredr
Ben, you will have to let me know when you have entered and I will definately be there to support you!
And the other anthems DJs..
Jutsinr
Just letting everyone know that the decks are likely to be Technics 1200s. The Uni Bar will be hiring them in specifically for this event.

Not sure of the mixer yet - finding out in just a moment.
Sunir
nice work on getting technics in there smile.gif
the mixer is a 4-channel 'jim beam' thing but i have no idea on model. it was pretty good to use

They may not be able to use the JB Mixer, because this event is being sponsord by Smirnoff (I originally thought it was Jim Beam though :S), so I don't think they're "allowed" to use the JB equipment.

Which is a good thing though, it means they'll likely hire in a club standard mixer to go with the 1200s biggrin.gif
Sunir
ahhh very nice! shaping up to be a fun night
