Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant

26th April 1986, Two thermal explosions occured, spreading more radiation than the two Nuclear Bombs dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima put together.

Check out the link below for the story of the aftermath, how it affected the children of Chernobyl, with some absolutely stunning and emotional photography and narration.

A warning for all, this may be disturbing to some, include images of children affected by this accident. i suggest you don't view it, if it will disturb you.

Yeah, it was... but the government spent not very much money on it, and made a massive concrete barrier around it, which is rusting and about to fall apart...

They have the next stage planned, but it takes way too much money and neither the soviet or ukraine governments are gonna give anything to it.. they're expecting the west is gonna spend the money for them even though it was their fault in the first place... sad.gif

Sad story...

The best site for this, I found aggges ago, very interesting:

http://www.kiddofspeed.com/

http://www.kiddofspeed.com/chapter1.html <-- the first story.

http://www.kiddofspeed.com/chernobyl-revisited <-- one that seems to have been updated recently.

It's pictures taken by a motorbike rider who cruises through some of the ghost towns in/around Chernobyl.
