to be honest i havn't actually made an effort to get up and watch the games...just taped a few of the australian ones...don't really care much for the teams that are left but thought i'd see what other ppl think :P

I'll say Germany. Its the home game and they're showing really strong form at this years World Cup. I would dare say the final match would be between France and Germany. France has excellent defence and midfield where as Germany averages out pretty good in all areas, but this will really determine who is on to play.

Well I'm hoping germany! :) my second team choice! and i am german..... BUT france has shown they can really play football by kicking the Brazilians out of the WM (weltmeisterschaft), so the finals between germany an France, will be a 1:1 draw with penalty, and germans win. :D

And since i'm in Germany, if Germany wins, this place is gonna go WILD!!!!! it already has after each game they've won... i can't imagine what the finals are gonna be like!

what did france do to cheat? they played a fair game against the brazilians... although up till then, they played a bit shonky... We'll see when it comes to finals...

Who really cares whos wins as i reckon watching grass grow is more excitting but im going for Portugual for something different

I'd like Portugal or Germany, more Germany because it's home turf and they've played solidly the whole cup.. Italy can die a slow cruel death.. if they win I'm writing a letter to FIFA to express my stern disapproval!

France don't have it in them IMO.. they have played an excellent game for the duration to date but they can play better... something missing.

My vote overall - Germany...

refering to penalty against spain which led to the winning goal. the one where the guy faked getting hit in the face when the replay shows he's a complete dickhead.

like the australian team i feel sorry for the spain team in being knocked out of the world cup by bad referee calls/.

yeah. i, along with many other people got pretty pissed off about the australia-italy call but hey. not much we can do about it now!

I'd have to say on the solid way that they've been playing & having a home ground 'advantage' Germany will be gunning for it BUT France always seem to pull something out of nowhere when it counts & considering this is Zidane's last World Cup, he would want to go out on a high... he dazzled against Brazil so if both teams make it thru, it will be a very good final Germany Vs. France..
My final thought would be France. They have more depth & play their best at times such as these. It'll be close nonetheless, but IMO France will prevail.

Yeah France benefited from a shitty ref call...so did Italy...neither 'should' be there. It's really sad that such an important event has been spoilt/tarnished by fuct up refereeing to such a high degree. I too like many other Australians feel completely ript off by what happened Vs. Italy....that 'episode' killed the spirit of the game in my eyes & deprived the Socceroos from a dam good chance to make it thru the next round. What was worse for me was having an Italian background & watch the cocky shits parading around as if they deserved the victory!? When there is no way the decision shld have been made, made me sik to the stomach! & ppl wonder why i don't follow Italy...

I agree about the italians prancing around like they 'won'....really annoys me how they might have an Italian background but where do they live? AUSTRALIA.....most of them have never even been to Italy so yeah, gets up my nose to!!!

i cant understand people still going on about this bad reff call, yes the reff made a bad call but that is one of the realitys of soccer. The opposing player went down because that is what they are trained to do, there is a whole art in soccer of trying to milk a penalty, the australian player made a mistake by falling infront of the italian player. Whilst soccer continues to have no video umpire there will continue to be bad calls all round, but some say that is part of the charm of the game. i say who needs something to slow this booring shit down even more

I wasn't in australia fr the aftermath, so i don't know what it's like back there, but i think Australians will have a big fighting chance next world cup, since now we only have to qualify thru asia, instead of south america... and the Japanese, who won the asian leg, have not won against this socceroos team... so it is a very good chance we'll get in the top 2 of asia...

And then hopefully it's smoot sailing, and by then Cahill and Kennedy will have another 4 years of international quality football behind them!!! YEAH!!!

frog on! i understand the aspect of the World Game that includes diving for penalties and such, but that doesn't mean i agree with it. i was proud to watch our team play a hard game and lock out the italians (they were flustered and got "lucky" at the last minute) and i think that hard play is very australian. the europeans (and others) have played this game for so long that they know the penalty can make or break a game, but i think it would be a shame for our team to go down that path - we play hard and fair in all sports and i would not want it any other way.

I would rather we play fair and lose, than "play the game" and win.

anyway, now i've got that off my chest - france for the cup!

ps: hehehe i notice no one has yet voted for an italian win!

Well Italy won, and I am upset..................... So freaking undeserved and to see the little italian shits thinking they deserved it (no offence to u italians, i mean the players)... I think the team should make a movie... They're the best actors i've ever seen in my life! Golden Globes all round for the team... OH WAIT they just got given a Golden Globe trophy...
