Also...I've had a few problems with some of my downloads. I've downloaded Street Fighter 3 for mame and have the latest version of mame but games like that still dont want to work. Anything I can do to rectify this problem? If it helps, I'm running a temporary setup of an AMD dual core 3800+, with 2GB ram and 200GB HDD also with 2 x 6600GT in SLI Mode. I'm saying temporary coz my parents are giving me their FX60 with 4GB ram 2x 200GB HDD and soon to be 2x 7800GTX in SLI mode. AWESOMENESS!!! AWESOMENESS I say!!!

i think its in the version of mame u run... cause i had games that wouldnt run on certain versions... but would on others.. later or newer (at one stage i found somewhere that actually reported which versions which games worked on... cant remember where it is tho :/ )

Wait, arents most of these games old ROMS? If thats the case then I'm sure even a less than average comp by today's, or even a couple of years ago standards will run them no problem. Shit, if they're NES or SNES roms you could run them on the ole 486's and 586's

my faves are alphamission II [neogeo] and battle bakraid [a newer japanese shooter]..
and metal slug!!

so i just tried out the newest version of mame32 (v0.111) and it is great! all the roms work, and all of my newer games that used to be sluggish or not run at all are now running sweetly!
i upgraded from v0.36 and the difference is outstanding. anyone who hasn't tried it yet get on it!

existing roms all good - as far as i can tell the new mame versions just add roms to the "working" list, or clear up bug or performance issues.
