Army Recruiting

well, tommorow (friday 9th june) i've been derked to sit in the dogbox (recruiting building) at Keswick Barracks, its gonna be 8 hours of painfully sitting around on my arse, hopeing that some random walks in off the street to come talk and want to be recruited...

i'll be there from 10am until 6pm, i put out an invitation for anyone who may be around or bored to come and say Hi. anyone is welcome. or even if you are interested in signing up, come see me and i'll hook you up with everything

location: Keswick Barracks, Anzac Highway. As you come into the main gate off of anzac highway, the small building directly to the right, practically 5m from the gate/entrance. should have army recruiting signs on it. i'll be in there, so come on in

I didnt pass the psychological when I was 18 because I had (and still do) a problem with authority.

Also...Foonji Howser, do you need to be able to swim to be in the reserves?? I was talking with a future distant in-law who's with the 3RAR and he said that all I'd have to do is 2 laps.

with swimming, i have to do it in full uniform and boots, swim 50m (watever style u like), then tread water for 3min, and finally duck dive down 2.5m swim thru two hoops 2.5m apart back up, and then back down for one more go.

but the normal swim test is something like 2 laps and 2min tread water, in uniform, but without boots i believe. not entirely sure.

but to join, there is no swim test. only after u have joined.

oh...that sux...I can not swim at all.

I can hold my breath in the bath for under 2 minutes at most. Also...just found out that he has to swim with 150kg in equipment then to Perth with the SAS

i'm sure you will be able to swim, i know that at boot camp they will give you remedial swimming lessons
