how about an option for stereo? i'm about as geeky as anyone (just ask the lady ...) but tend to spend more time with my speakers than with my machines - although if i had a psp it would be both

i think i grew out of gaming - used to spend hours infront of my win98 box playing stuff, but nowadays i don't want to spend the time : more likely to bang out a few minutes on MAME, and then move on to some fresh air - ahhh fresh air, remember that?

and for those that don't know what MAME is : it's an arcade emulator for modern computers

I am ze uber 6335. If I'm not working my ass off, I'm spending at least 5 hours a day playing Elder Scrolls Oblivion and 2-3 hours on Racewarkingdoms.com. And am normally trying to hack games and make trainers for my gamecube, ps2, psp and pc.

I lurve my PC.

When gaming I used to play my PS2 on a very regular basis & GBA SP but as I started to develop more of a social life I left the games at home

That and my mummy wouldn't let me plug the PS2 into our 43inch plasma tv *grumble*

I recently grabbed some collection of roms for SNES, Genesis and N64, apparently it's a complete collection. I love playin old school mario and Sonic on my PC I have some USB controller converters too so it's like the real thing, just without the need to blow dust out of cartridges

yeah i run a USB connector for my xbox controllers aswell makes car games so easy!! some games consoles just kick arse.. other games like FPS really require a mouse/keyboard combo!

love the cross contamination compatbilities.. roms and controls swapping from console to PC etc

amen to both of these ... philbert you rock! the lockin idea is a definite great idea ...

we have easily enough people to fill the place, lockins used to be done all the time (i went to a birthday party at norwood intencity). FallenAngelG: what's the go - could we set up decks? used to be something like $20 a pop with minimum of 10 or 15 peeps ... (but that was years ago) street fighter2 for a few hours couldn't hurt anyone could it morpheus?


and as for a CS event, i'm a curious n00b that wants to know ...

i am currently running a 10 slot Call of Duty 2 server at my place, running some wickedly extreme mods! napalm and mortars and air craft crashing into the map.

u cant find it on the COD 2 server list if u have the latest patch 1.2. its called DTA eXt i think... lol its offline at moment as im at work. but if anyone else has COD 2 and wants some fun PM me or sms me, my numbers in the " unit for rent" thread or even add me to MSN to see if its online. usually its me and a couple guys i work with, and a few mates that log in at times.

I was a pretty bad CS junkie at one point. Stopped playing it when STEAM, the piece of crap program, didnt work on my PC when 1.6 came out. *grumble* I was pretty good as well. Was a 56k player that gave DSLers a run for their money... hmmm, I want to get back in to it, but I'd probably relapse and become absent from everything but my computer room

The lockins we do are a set time, 10am-12noon ($13 p/p incl Med Cheeseburger Meal) but you can have a private lock-in by booking the place out at a certain time on a certain day. I can MAYBE knock the price down considerably, depending on the day of the week you choose. If it was a Fri or Sat night it'd be 10/11 - 12 midnight.

Decks would be no probs but Cetra3 would have to play at least one set, it is his residence after all *lol*

i got 5 pc's in the puter room, i got the server, sharyn's PC, the kids PC and i have 2 dual monitor machines in front of me, then i have a laptop 2 the side of me.

i got a PC in the lounge in an arcade machine cabinet tunning mame, i got as PC in a table top arcade running mame, im about to build another 1. and i got a media center PC in the lounge.

oh and Police trainer arcade and mortal Kombat arcade and another one with 4 games on it including pac man..
and a nintedo 64 in an original desplay cabinet

and a sega mega drive, and a megadrive 2 and a sega master system and a sega saturn and a sega dreamcast and a nintendo entertainment system, and a super nintendo and a playstation 2 and a coleco vision, and a dick smith computer and a hanimex computer and a commodore 64..........

I've got one. If you're into games where friends can play as well then I recommend getting Mario Party, Mario Kart, Mario Tennis, Mario Golf, Mario Baseball, Mario Stage Dancing Mix (those dancing games with the mat), Super Smash Brothers Melee, Donkey Konga (the game where your controller is a bongo drum), Resident Evil 4 SE (where your controller and in-game weapon is a chainsaw) and you can also order a device called a Freeloader which enables you to play import games. Most import games are cheaper to buy and many titles dont exist in Australia - as long as you dont mind it being in Japanese. But they're pretty easy to figure out anyway.

go the nintendo DS! i have been thrashing my ds lite for a couple of weeks now and its great! i was first attracted by the old skool flip open-two screens bit - just like my old donkey kong handhelds - but now i'm excited by the interface. this little critter is less than $200 to buy new and has a touchscreen and mic built in so i can talk to my games and then brush the screen to control the action

highly recommended, and there is more to come.

ds browser released in japan july24 (online purchase only, no date on international version)
i have other things in mind but won't go into detail here

note for future: watch out for the hype surrounding new nintendo console - wii ...
