i'm not going back to ie either, ff just get better and better but thats another issue ...
i am posting now just to try out attaching a pic to a post :
image not archived: post-839-1145580867.jpgand that seems to work ok, so it's not exactly like the permissions error of a few weeks ago ... but i still get the binary garbage when opening attachments, like the flyer for The Supperclub. To me it means that our browsers are not seeing the file as a pic but as a binary file and are interpreting it as best they can. This will give us the closest match to ascii characters that can be made from the bytes in the jpg/gif/whatever
If IE is working then there is a "standards issue" as Philbert pointed out (see many global discussions re: IE and standards). As at least three other browsers are having this issue with attachements I would be checking the server config, maybe it's handling of mime-types? Unless there have been some code modifications in the last 2-3 months I would not suspect the coding (all php?) of the page itself as it has been working well in the past. Have there been any version updates or even changes to the skin recently?
edit:// I have now added a larger file to this post and have been permitted to do so: can you all open it ok in your browser of choice? (I think it's great that we have four browsers running when few years ago it would have been only one of two ...)
Joker: can you get this one ok too?
