there are soooooo many ppl on here that do not post & maybe it is because there is nothing 2 inspire them so i thought i would ask a question that may induce a response, however controversial...

if there is life after death or whatever & u were 2 come back as an animal, if u could chose, what would u come back as??

me? well the idea of being something soft & fluffy & cuddly like a wabbit is appealing, but in the big scheme of things i'd probably get killed, so alternately an eagle that is high in the sky & so totally free sounds good.

so all of u that have neva posted take this op & tell us all.... if u could chose, what would U b????
party popperr
huh.gif Although I have posted a few, I thought you picked an interesting topic to talk about Dingbat and I'd add my 2 cents! Ha Ha!

The only way I could see you coming back as a wabbit is along with the saying "Root like a rabbit!" LMAO! biggrin.gif Just jokes!

I'd have to say I'd like to come back as a panther/tiger... Playful yet powerful, a hunter not as much the hunted, and looking so cuddly yet reaping fear!!! LMAO! laugh.gif

Or a dolphin just for the fact I love water and they are the only other species that have sex for enjoyment and not just to reproduce!!!! tongue.gif

So do tell what everyones opinions are... I'm sure they could be quite interesting!
PaulHamonr
great question... i've been thinking about what i'd come back as for the last hour and i can't come up with anything...

i think that's because i believe, there is nothing after death... just nothing-ness...

but hey, do aliens from another world 'class' as animals... if so, I'll choose that!

nah seriously I guess an eagle as they don't have any natural enemys (except humans who wanna cage them) and would be great flying about the place smile.gif

There is and I'm living proof. I've been so stupid and literally drunk/popped myself to death...TWICE!! 1st time was when I was 18 and collapsed when I had too much of alcohol and other substances. Result? No pulse for 15 seconds. 2nd time was when I did pretty much the same thing but stupidly enough at work NYE 04. Pretty much the same deal but consumed enough booze for 5/6 people. They literally counted on the camera footage how many I had consumed within a two hour time frame. 36 drinks. No heart beat for 27 seconds.

PS - I havent been posting for a while coz my missus has been sick and I've been looking after her at her place for the past two days.

sang.. i think you might need to carm down a little... you trying for '3rd time lucky'?

Nah...I'm being good. Sort of. Only so much my body can take.

from my own research, experimentation and observation, i have come to the conclusion that there is very likely a form of afterlife.. <<short answer

longish answer>>

not in the sense of heaven/hell/whathave you but in the sense that this reality is part of a much larger system in which we, as sentient shards of a greater being [not necessarily 'God'] experience physical time-based reality by reducing our perception to experience 'separateness' [from all-that-is] which also allows us to experience things like time and 3D reality [sorry for re-iterating stuff, been a while since i thought about these kind of things wink.gif]..

personality as much as it is based in the physical individualised body disintegrates upon death, and the greater we hold onto these aspect of ourselves as being the 'essential' us, the greater likelihood of re-entering the earth plane [cycle of karmic birth and re-birth] again and again..

hmm.. i may have to dust off some old thoughts and re-examine them here.. but look up buddhist concepts of reincarnation, samsara, bardos etc if you really want to look at the matter in depth..
DarrenJr
You would go to heaven
I wouldnt know if it would be spirtual or just in your mind
but I bet the last few electrical pulse's after you die would simulate your urge to go to the place/animal you wish to be/go to

I kind of imagined it being a big set of gates and some guy in white robes with a harp playing in the background, not a couple of bouncers and a metal detector taking favours to let underage girls get in LOL

if this was possible, wouldn't mind coming back as a puma.. puma's rock.. smile.gif
I don't like cats much tho huh.gif

only problem is there'll be no natural habitats left soon, so you may end up in a zoo..

yeah but dolphins never discovered the use of fire, so they never progressed beyond fish herding sonics and frolicking..

I'd say.... a seagull or a pigeon, s I can fly around from here to there and shit on those I don't like!!!

Or, "i wanna be a rainbow high in the sky" ( I love that song smile.gif )

I wana come back as another human so i can appreciate music and people just as much as i do know and do things as a teenager what i hadnt done. But the difference is that i would like to be born in a rich family or marry some one like Paris Hilton so i can party all over the world. Know that would be wicked (marrying Paris Hilton

i firmly believe in an afterlife of some sort, but what it is, i don't know.
18 months ago i flatlined 3 times in the space of 24 hours due to a reaction from some prescribed medicine, and had what you would call a classic nde - the floating out of your body, seeing everything happening to you, and the sensation of unbelievable calm.
having researched a little after my experience, i have read that every persons nde is based around their religious beliefs: ie, if you believe in god, then god it is, if it's buddha, then buddha it is. the things that are common themes are the choice of crossing some type of barrier (river, road, wall, gateway), the light, and a loud jet like sound.
now having said that, there is research to suggest that the classic nde scenarios are the result of oxygen deprivation to the brain, so that is also a little food for thought.
cheers

Geees nickdub thats an expereince and a half!! You sound very lucky! Did it have any bad effects afterwards?? I bet you can appreciate life a lot more before that happend. Glad things are ok but

well, physically it took me a while to get over it (collapsed lungs, shredded quads from nonstop seizures which meant i couldn't walk for about 4 weeks), but mentally, apart from the nde, i am fine. it was harder for my wife and kids, because they were living through it, and dealing with the emotional side of the possibility ofme dying, where as i was in a coma, so remained blissfully unawares as to what was going on, until i woke up in the ICU.
but it's all good now, as my perspective has changed on a lot of things, and probably i have slowed down a little with my reaction to other people, and their opinions......ie: i'm a lot less fiery than i used to be. i was an angry little bald man, now i'm just a little bald man. smile.gif
Jean-paulr
There is no after life so make the most of the one life you have.......BUT, if there was a way to come back then i would be... A MARTINI!! That way i could be drunk again (and again and again).

Nooooooo! Dolphins are only the SECOND smartest animals on the planet!! I can't believe you weren't paying attention in Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy..... laugh.gif

Personally, I like the Infinite Parallel Universes theory. If you've ever seen the film "Sliding Doors" (which gave you only 2 of them) you'll know what I'm talking about. Basically EVERY SINGLE choice you make (as trivial as deciding to take one sip or two out of your glass of wine) creates a new parallel universe, in which you continue to exist. Therefore, there are universes that exist in which you never die - because in that one, someone has discovered how to prolong life indefinitely. There are also universes in which you are dead, you are a rock-star, you can fly, you are a toilet-cleaner, you are the president of the galaxy etc etc etc etc

It is said that this theory also explains dreams (a peek into one of the other parallel universes by your subconscious - the only time you can do this is when you're asleep, as your consious mind would not be able to comprehend it!) and deja vu (little anomalies which line up these universes - you feel like you've seen/done something before because you've actually experienced it in another universe)

It's loads of fun explaining this theory to people who've been visiting the Jolly Green Giant - sit back & watch their heads explode once they've had time to process this information!! blink.gif

hey only read first few posts, but ah, well, LOL @ afterlife. wink.gif

If someone can prove, with cold hard evidence that there IS one or anything remotely like it, im more then happy to be an animal or whatever, but ah, without it, i believe i eventually will die, be buried, my body decays and what-not, and thats that. Yay. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif Til then, i'll keep partyin'

I believe there is an afterlife. It makes more sense as to why we are here, the meaning of life etc. I think our evolution is way too complicated to just be an accident. I hate religion putting rules on our lives and telling us what to believe, but I definately think we reincarnate to higher awareness.

I would love to find out all the secrets of our world. I just know those in power keep us plebs in the dark. Hopefully we find that out in the afterlife.

I too thought the same when my mate passed away at just 19 years old, it definatly made me hope there was something out there better for him than the low blow he was dealt here on earth....BUT i also believe people grasp hold of "afterlife" ideas as they are just plain scared of dying - me included, horribly scared, but i really have no opinion on it all other than that im here now, can feel now and enjoy now so thats what im going to do.

If in the end i come back - i want to come back as the same person i am now to change certain things in mine and others lives i have influenced in the past.

On a brighter note - NOT LONG TILL anthems rolleyes.gif

You need to read the Celestine Prophecy smile.gif

I'm not scared into hoping for an afterlife, and I don't believe that any of the religions have got it right. I'm not even convinced either way if there is anything after we die.

I do get this feeling though that there is something we haven't worked out yet....some sort of influence over our lives. Some people seem to live more ordinary lives, and others full of conincidence smile.gif

Funny, Im reading the Celestine Prophecy right now. Im 1/2 way through it, which I guess is why I was drawn to this thread. Great Book.

its funny how most people dont think any thing exist after life i understand that i used to be the same but you know even before i lost my friend i was always aware of an energy that seems to coexsit with everytrhing we do
and the best way to explain this is for me is when you are on the dance floor you can feel the energy of all the people around you if the people on the dance floor are happy then you are but if its all abit strange then unless you close your eyes and block them out you just cant seem to relax. that is an energy that we create from just being together imagine what we could do if we were all aware and in controll of that energy. i feel that energy every where especially from children, animals and my friend i lost
somthing we dont understand is there we just have to learn about it that is if you want to wink.gif

I'm really not sure if there is life after death but there is a presentes of some kind. Both of my parents have passed on when in a Very bad Accident and the other from Cancer. Sine they have passed on i have had children of my own i see little things in them that remind me of my parents every day. I guess it's my way of seeing that they are ok even though there not hear to tell me.

I'm not scared of dying it's part of life i just want to live it well.

If i'm to come back a wanna come back as a human, Onw life ends another begins.

Life is short and we're not here forever so take care of yourself, Family and friends as you don't know when it may end for you or them.

that is very true... and a good point... people live on their children and their children's children!
