Can it be done?

what do you reckon guys, does it work? I am interested but i don't have much confidence that it will actually do anything, and i'm too much of a cheapskate to make a 3 minute call to another phone in the same room.

Although, if it did work it would surely be a wake-up call for all(most) of us and our mobile telephony ... if it's cooking an egg in 3 minutes what is it doing when i talk to my parents for 12 minutes!! I'm not planning on giving up my phone anytime soon, but are they dangerous?

I was talking to a tech the other day
he was saying you cant wear metal earings with in 3 mtr of the tower as they get hot after a while (few hours)

and doesnt the signal go via the booster to the other phone

eg two phones cant talk to each other with out a tower in range?

sorry i didn't make it clear, but the first line of my post is the link to the original story ... basically you put a phone on each side of an egg (with a radio on in the room?!?!?) and have one phone call the other ...

Phones are a bit less dangerous these days... maybe the nokia 5110 bricks, but not anything newer lol

nah if you could cook an egg with it, imagine holding it to your head for long business calls. the fact is RF radiowaves in that tiny amount/compacity. can not cook an egg. regardless how many phones/how much time you put them there.

metal objects on the other hand absorb the energy. so after a while they get warm... but hardly anything to write home about.

was a really good april fools joke last year.. or was it the year before..

it worked because people are all worried about their brains frying and radiation/etc.

but i love explaining things like that.
