well, has anyone got any stories or memories of le rox they'd like to share?

mine would be
1/ the toilets overflowing every saturday ohmy.gif
2/ the blue room, and the goths....especially the freaky dude with the cane that had four feet, and his ability to swing it around at the first sign of danger
3/ the line up, and dropping glasses of water on the queue.
4/ the skydiver hanging from the roof over the stair way
and
5/ scally mark

feel free to add some in kiddies.
PaulHamon
Hundreds of ravers sitting out the from at 6am in full summer daylight... wondering what the fuck to do next!
tangent23
hahaha in the days before mainstream peoples knew what was up, must've wondered why all these young uns were up nice and early! biggrin.gif

i used to not talk to anybody back then, just turn up wait in line for an hour, dance, then go home.. one night i spent the whole night jumping only on the white squares..

last week i went to get a recharge card for my phone and the guy who served me remembered me "from le rox maybe?", we had an instant karma connection smile.gif

i've also only just recently gotten to know a girl i used to see every week there..
TCB
sadly enough i only went there once and it wasnt a memerable experience! sad.gif
Seven of GAFFiO
I really wish i was in the scene long enough ago to have gone there. When ever its mentioned in a convo all i hear is great comments about it. I've only been to the new Le Rox 1 or 2 times.. its to far away for my liking. But it seems a pretty nice joint.

clue
I would have to say one of the most memorable nights there would have been the foam party. Image the whole dance floor covered in foam to about 5 ft high and people just going off!!
Many a great night was had there.
PaulHamon

Was that the foam pumped out of the fire engine? or another night...

i remember Annie the door bitch ( i mean this in a nice way), who wouldnt always let us in and John the Beast the bouncer who was friendly as to all us weeny ravers but wouldnt take any shit from any outsiders trying to get in biggrin.gif
scattered
Those were the days....

I am glad to see, there a quite a few of the old skool crew on this forum. The people who, i probably danced with, talked to and just sat in the corner looking at thinking .... well not much!!
PaulHamon
plenty of old heads around here... hopefully was we grow we'll get even more!!

What about when John The Beast dressed up as father Christmas on Christmas night in 1992 and he was spinning around on the dancefloor with about 8 scally's hanging off him.. classic!
Or when he'd be wearing his Visine hat at the door.

Lerox from 1988-1993 was an institution for me every week and they were the best 5 years in the dance music explosion for Adelaide.. nothing EVER will compare

God I could ramble on so many stories about that place... but I often wonder what has become of 95% of the people that I haven't seen for over 12 years and what they are doing with themselves

I bump into some people now and then and have a good chat
TCB
sadly enough i bet most of them are settled down with families and couldnt be bothered with the adelaide scene in the state its in! would be tough to get them out to live out the past all over again but its worth a try. i hope a family doesnt stop me from partying every now and again! but you cant plan where life will take you but most often people settle down without even realising it. mellow.gif
PaulHamon
they'll want some escapism at some time or another... if they know anthems shows exist, i believe the will participate maybe only once a year... but that's enough!
TCB
exactly! once they have a taste theyll be back one time or another! wink.gif

Not sure which rave it was, but standing at the back door of LeRox, trying to convince someone to open the back door of Control cos the walk around to the front door in the bright morning sun was too much LOL

The dragon through the ceiling..... *ducks & hides from Paul* laugh.gif

Being 16 and telling my parents I was at "Seniors" at the Burnside Town Hall, then catching the bus into town to go to Le Rox. Only being able to stay there until just before midnight, as the last bus home left at 11.50pm! Didn't matter back then, as there were plenty of people there to play with by 10pm. How times have changed - I wouldn't even dream of leaving the house before 11pm nowadays!

Drinking schooners of beer with raspberrry cordial unsure.gif

Flavoured/perfumed smoke-machine smoke - my favourite was strawberry!

John the Beast (man, I'd forgotten about him!) with that MASSIVE white Cadillac (or whatever it was!) convertible out the front and his white suits.

I'm not sure if it were le rox....??? I think so!!!
Anyway it had just become daylight and there was a black out. Everyone ran out the front on the lawn and danced to the music coming from Dave (DIRTY 1's) car.
It was awsome that the party kept going....
Le Rox or Breakers........hhhhmmmmmmm I can't remember tongue.gif
nickdub
i would have to say that the strongest memory i have is standing on the stage at around 4am, looking out of that little open window with the bars on it, looking out at the spires of st peters cathedral, and enjoying the cooling air, because that place used to get so damn hot!
spacecadet
I remember going into Le Rox at about 4.00 am one New years eve Morning when I was about 16 & hearing this thumping beat, ( I think it was a mix of Hear the drummer get wicked) and straight away I was hooked on the music!

RhythmFlo

My friends back in 1991 weren't into dance music. They used to go to shit clubs up on hindley street. I knew about LeRox from listening every week to dreaming daisies (god bless Georgie and her musical education smile.gif ). I went there with my best buddy one night, in 1991. It was wicked. dark, smokey, completely alien. The strangness and the freshness of the place... mindblowing. I loved it, he HATED it. He left, I stayed all night til the sun came up. I made a new group of friends, my life was never the same after that night. I met my first true love at LeRox one night... This girl was just staring at me.. she was freaky, but then, so was I. I offered her a lollipop, and she was mine. *ahhh* Together we experienced practically every rave and quality club in adelaide for the next 6 years... we're not together anymore, long story.. but she is my absolute best friend to this day. Sorry to rabbit on, that's my connection with LeRox. smile.gif

Chronicon
Seems I missed out on alot ... I only went there once and a work m8 was also meeting me there and he didn't turn up dry.gif
But I got chatting to a group there that were cool.

I used to goto the big ticket at that stage instead smile.gif

what i liked about things back then, was that there were no rules, no 'way' that things should be done, it was all new, the music, the ways of relating, things that that are taken for granted today..

if you found yourself at those early clubs, you had to really look or be lucky in stumbling upon it, it wasn't something that people did just cause that's what people did on the weekend..

seeing people in daylight hours that wore clubby clothes was rare, sometimes even harassed by the pub rock dance in a circle round the handbag pyramid crowd. guys didn't dance, no-one except you was up after 4 in the morning..

the peoplee attracted to the music were all strange, different, looking for something more.. i mean it's all good now that it's become more overground [more power to the music], but sometimes i think the early adopters had a different agenda to the majority today..

sometimes i think maybe we're looking for the next thing now, the next step, wave in the evolution of sound, body and mind.. or maybe we're hitting the edges of some sort of singularity, so waves are bouncing backwards to the past, the loops of fashion/trends cycling closer and closer until it all mashes into one chaotic blur..

maybe wink.gif

I remember the first time I went , it was so dark and smokey
I walked for what seemed like forever and thought to myself fuck this place is huge I will never find my way out
next week I went back and realised I must have been walking aruond in big circles all night, I thought I was going one direction!

you have to remember the whistles b4 they got thrashed!!!!!!!!!!
the whistles rocked and people would blow them in special melodies to accentuate the music - not just one long burst
I can remember one night heaps of people had whistles, so this guy getts up on the stage
he blows his whistle a certain riff and pionts to his right and all the people on his right bloew back the same tune
then he does the same with his left and he had teh whole crowd following his lead
he was conducting lerox----- classic

what about the people chains?

when lerox was really pumpin noone just walked across the room they held onto the back ofthe person in front, so they would not get lost, so when you looked at the whole picture, it was like a sea of catterpillars
conga lines going everywhere
I can remember goin to the bar , and about half an hour later I realised I was holding thehand of some girl I did noy know, and I was just folowing her as she weave around the club

and the scullys

and the little window that was tey only place air came in b4 airconditioning

and the crazy freestyle dancers

hahaahahhaha! biggrin.gif

---

i remember going to lerox a couple of months after the core mag had closed down, i think it was carl cox, and it was wierd cause suddenly there were all these people with white gloves and flouro sticks and whistles, like we had gone back a couple of years, although i guess it was just a new generation of ravers.. wierd..

btw: i reckon i was the first person in adelaide to take glo-sticks to parties [this was early on and i hadn't ever seen or heard of them being used this way].. cause i used to hang out in rundle st from the mid-80's and used to check out the camping shops and one day i saw these sticks and asked the guy what they were, when he told me i was like *lightbulb* smile.gif

i know they're a rave cliche now, but i was pretty chuffed first time i took it out .. but my laser goggles were better i think, i remember wandering round a rave downstairs lerox freaking people out cause there was so much smoke and the laser looked cool biggrin.gif

ok, enough reminiscing for a bit..

I remember waay back, when it was 'ACID', and everybody thought we were freaks. I even had the shreded jeans (with shiney tracksuit material sewn in), smiley shirts and "gulp" bandanas ha ha. hmm maybe I'm on that brink of getting too old for this?

spacecadet
First to use glow sticks, thats a big call smile.gif . not that I doubt you dude.

I rememeber going into leRox & it was a sea of white fluro with aeveryone wearing something white, t-shirts- headbands for the girls & white tops. It was a freakyexperience the first time you saw it.

The whistles were great too, reallly hightened the moment

Hmmm a bandanna hey?? Did you have the red paisley or the black paisely one. LOl I still got one of each. If you didnt wear them on your head they wrapped around the wrist okay too.

I can remember when they first came out... They we're hard to find and cost a bomb for decent sized one!

Someone had to be the first in town... and to tell you the truth, I'd believe it was t23. He's always been about a decade ahead of the pack for as long as I've known him (as per his signature)!

Yeah I wasnt meaning to sound like I was doubting T23 @ all. In fact I believe him when he says that he was the first onto the glow sticks.

Im 33 this year so I was very fortunate to be around for pretty much all of the best years of the Adelaide rave scene. There was a time where I used to go out at least four nights per week to clubs. Wednesday to the Club, Thursday to The Tunnell & friday to the Ark & Saturday to Le Rox. I think this is how it went, its over 10 years ago now. It was a great time

Another memory of Le Rox was that dodgy carpark next to it, where the art centre is now! Driving up to the first level and parking there hoping that the rotten wooden floor boards wouldnt collapse.
PaulHamon
About the same age and me and t23... smile.gif

That list like where I used to go, expect Club Foote wasn't a Wednesday man until Cargo a few years later...

It's great to see so many old heads on this board... did that stats yesterday 25% of the people registered are over 29 wink.gif

tangent23
hehe.. the only reason i say i may have been the first with the glow sticks is because i didn't see any others out for ages, and i used to go out quite a bit as well.. actually i reckon the first time i used one was on yr 10 camp [some vague memory of camping or something] so that would have been '87*.. ohmy.gif ..hmm maybe that was too early.. though i did hang out at alfrescos from about yr 10 onwards.. not that it's really important happy.gif

*actually i think this is a false memory.. though there seems to definitely be some kind of school camp glowstick memory, and the last camp i went to was yr10 so maybe, who knows really wink.gif

yeah I know there were a few other places that I would go to but not as frequently. There was a dance party or nightculb where proscenium used to be. Was that club foote??

Like tangent23 said the memories are a leetle vague at times. Not so much a miss spent youth but a well spent youth laugh.gif
Glows sticks for anthems in June??

As far as the age range go really there would be a lot of us ravers coz the early nineties was really when the dance scene was at its peak. Give me a rocking beat over a band any day !!!

My fondest memory would have to be on the grassy areas of light square puking up and some really gorgeous girl asking if I was alright and looking after me for the rest of the night (she ended up being my girlfriend for a few months). That was 7 or so years ago but I've never been to Le Rox. Not even in its current guise.

Reading all your posts bring all the smaller details of the old memory of classic Le Rox back with huge smiles! Like my mate nickdub spoke of, the window we used to sustain life from on the back wall of the stage at peak time! The $10 drink cards before 10pm, jordan 5 shoes and at 7 in the morning demanding 1 more tune from fairburn or whoever.
tangent23
i just remembered:

you know that whole sunken section to the right of the dancefloor? i didn't even know that was there for ages.. i didn't drink at that time or really talk to anyone, just hit the dancefloor and totally missed the fact that the club was twice as big as i had originally thought! biggrin.gif
nickdub
1 thing i forgot until now was that dodgy carpark next to le rox. the guy that ran that was piss funny, until you were the one that he parked cars behind......then you knew you were doing an allnighter and possibly an all dayer too. laugh.gif

does anyone remember that old red laser that they had, and all the black plastic that was strung around there for a while? that laser back then was the ducks nuts, but if it was installed into a venue now, people would just laugh. apart from the three different patterns it used to throw out, about all it was good for was burning retina!!

oh yeah, i think my favorite part of all was the fact that the bar staff were usually the most off tap, and it was a lottery wether you got a drink, a conversation, or another deal. biggrin.gif

Hey you may have answered somthing i've been trying to find out for a long time... was control a club which is about where Enigma bar is now, and you had to enter by going thru an alleyway next to the adult shop and downstairs?? This would have been about 93 or 94?
Maybe I'm thinking of a later incarnation but it was great nonetheless!~
tangent23
i think that was the ko klub, control was upstairs where Max karaoke is now..
fatimabunny
wasnt control the old tucan club on hindley street? I remember it had an upstairs and downstairs section. I think it turned into a comedy venue for a while.
PaulHamon
Control was Hindley Street West... Emiga Bar now or maybe Max Karaoke... it's hard to tell...

Tucan Club!?! that's a name I've not heard in a long time... Wasn't that where Jive Comedy Bar is now, has been shitload of clubs in it's time... around 1992 it was BASE and they had the DCMs there...

Or was Tucan Club... Procenium or the old Club Foote???

Oh my god I just realised how "young" I am in rave years

I totally missed the LeRox Light Square days, but I have heard MANY a story about the place.

Anyone got a time machine??

A friend of mine says quite often that she wants to invent a time machine so she can take me and her other "newbie" friends back to rush...

I do however remember...

When I was an RnB bitch blink.gif I was going from planet to heaven (via light square) and saw all these people in these weird brightly coloured outfits made out of fur and allsorts. I thought they were nuts!!

Oh my how we change.

Not only do I now LOVE wearing fluffy gators and rave outfits... I have my own business designing and making them!!

Yeah you are right, Tucan club became B.A.S.E. & i think it became a nudey bar for a while at some stageand was in hindlye street almost next to that car park that went into the lane way near Le Rox
I never went when it was Tucan but it was legendary as being one of the first house clubs and all my mates used to try & sneak in underage. ( so much easier back then when you didnt have photo id's

Im sure it was before your time fatimabunny tongue.gif

around this time of the tucan club I remember seeing heaps of flyers popping up for a rave called Deep I think that played a lot of garage house & I remember thinking to myself what is all that about?

Dont ask me what year but I remember being down by the entrance and I saw Bruce Samazan walk in & up the stairs with this lady in a short black dress. off topic slightly

any one remember the night at control
where the smoke machine was cranked so much that the smoke started coming out of the roof tin
someone noticed it and everyone panicked , opened the fire exit and all poured outside
the fire exit was caged in and locked so people started freaking that it was a trick by the cops and we were trapped in a cage

some scullys climbed onto the roof and they were running around sniffing the smoke
and decided it was just nightclub smoke , so the party started up again

sketchy stuff ha ha ha ah

I have some recollection of seeing bruce as well....hmmm thats wierd?

Happy pants....I know of one person (who is on this site) who for sure wore happy pants back in the days. He would work in them and try his underage pick up lines at such places as Mambo (Glenelg S.L.S.C) Pulse (everywhere from murry bridge to the dom polski centre to some basketball center on the north side) yes you nickdub, own up or the story goes gold.

I also do remember JTB, he use to drive an impala and would park it out the front of where he was bouncing. I saw him throw someone onto their head out the front of le-rox once....after a pre-race party in the bad old days of the grand prix. THE most sickening sound I have ever heard was when the guys head connected concrete.

think u have me confused with someone else tiger, i have never owned a pair of happy pants. i do however own and wear a unitard, and a rainbow wig, which i accesorize with my "john3:16" sign, but only on special occasions, such as weddings, bar mitzvahs, and funerals. biggrin.gif

It's a long time ago... and i think people just having trouble remembering smile.gif

thanks for correcting us!

Lerox was, and always will be the closest thing Adelaide had to a true superclub without the mainstream hype...God I miss it....I came to town from the country (Eyre Peninsula) in 89 and that place opened up my mind, and in turn, my life to possibilities I never dreamed existed!!! It is such a great venue too, its sad to see its not being utilised properly anymore...wish I had enough cash to restore it to its glory daze...anyone wanna help me??? wink.gif

soo many memories! i never snuck into McMahons or Lennies like my other school friends, i was lerox'n it every weekend!!!

My friend and i would always end up outside (to try and cool down coz it was always hot!) and we would be dribbling shit with john who manned the car park (now not there of course!) and once we had some trouble brewing out the front so we ran and hid up with him and the vee dub and ate baked beans with him til the drunken deros disappeared...
Pink Bear
My biggest memories of Le Rox are always the door. I know that there were lots of different promoters over the years, and I don't remember who was good and who was bad. But there was a time there where they deliberate let people in veerrrrrry slowly, so they got a huge line and they looked like they were busy. Then when you got inside there was still hardly anyone there. mad.gif

I remember waiting in one of those forever lines once, and the guy next to me getting all nervy because he was peaking too early. laugh.gif

I remember getting near the front of the line once, and a bouncer throwing someone who was inside through one of the windows next to the front door. sad.gif

I think my best memory was during the height of Rent-a-Crowd. Our theme song was Nu Nu (or Noo Noo?) and we had a little dance that went with it. There were a couple of weekends there that when the DJ played "our" track, and we did "our" dance, the whole crowd followed along. Mmm mmm (hands in the air) Yeah yeeh (hands down around your knees). biggrin.gif

I prefered Control and Metro anyway. wink.gif
nickdub
i prefer to think that pretty much all three (lerox, Control and Metro), and a couple of other venues (curry street tavern, bijou etc) were all the ducks nuts at the time, because it wasn't as mainstream as it is heading today, and therefore, there were less people, and a more "intimate" feeling amongst clubbers.
mcfinal
Is it just me or was lerox the most awesome setup for a club outside of town when it was open?. I miss it so much it used to go off. Im over all the best clubs closing down. mad.gif
PrincessPeach1337
i was wayyyyyy to young for Lerox. i think i would have prolly been in either kindy or primary school when it was it its heyday. instead i'll be asking people in five or ten years time whether they miss black cat or earth (heaven forbid they ever close), or even if people miss heaven...

yeah right! laugh.gif
HEFTY
you better believe it, it was where I had my first 'special' experience wacko.gif so holds some real special memories for me. smile.gif

Acid........Acid.......Now thats going back, WAY WAY Back tongue.gif

And you had to go and check the goths and freaks in the blue room laugh.gif (sorry if anyone here was one of them)
HEFTY
just had athought, you are talking about the old Le Rox in light square?????

Cause that's where the rave scene really kicked off for me wink.gif

best club outside of town?? you must be talking about the fake Lerox (Bridgeway), not the original - and still the best laugh.gif

But the original Lerox in Light Square should not have closed down...no!!!!
SpecialK
I miss Rush more than any of them!
skitzkitty
Outside of town???? SMP's right on - that's the fake one!!! I remember going to the REAL Le Rox when I was 15 or 16, mum & dad thought we were all at the "Seniors" dance at Burnside town hall (BTW, that's not a dance for senior citizens, it referred to the Senior years of high school!! I reckon there was more naughty stuff going on there than at Le Rox anyway!!!) We'd catch the bus into town & then have to leave Le Rox at 11.45 to catch the last bus home at 11.55.....ah, the days before photo ID existed smile.gif

Little help requested from old Le Rox heads - I still have a bet to settle with Mr Hamon - who remembers the massive dragon that came through the roof at Le Rox???? I desperately need a photo of it to prove to Paul that my memory hasn't been, er....altered over time..... laugh.gif
crIs P
mmm i dont remember a dragon but i was never really 'with it' when i went to le-rox. but if i did see a dragon i probably would have run for my life.......
KandiRaver
I miss LeRox.. It was the first rave club i went to when i met my man (now partner for over 2 yrs!) It will always have a special place in my heart! It's also the place of my first rave... Warehouse Riot (i think i still have the ticket to that too!!)

So many memories! Ahh...

I don't ever recall a dragon! What time frame are you looking at? Le Rox went through at least a couple of changes between 88 and 93 when I used to frequent it
Plenty of other stuff hanging off the roof, but no dragon.

Think paul might win that bet smile.gif
KandiRaver
I remember a dinasour.. but no dragon, unless that is what you mean...

It was a brontasaurus, and all four legs were comming down from the ceiling and also the head of it was coming throught as well (a-la underwater shot).

I definately remember this hence the name of the clup LeRox (kinda stone age type thing) so unless the bet was specifically dragon i think Raveprincess wins it!

Im talking about the bridgeway , i just loved the setup ,i so hope some events get held there again.

I agree! A fair bit of my time at Old School anthems was spent layin on the lawn at the front of St Pauls talkin to randoms. The chillout room at Shores on Sunday was pretty popular too. Needs 2 be dark with dull blue/purple lights or somethin though, not all lit up like the tent at Enchanted.

Memories of Lerox (some cross posted from the "where are they now" thread)

the "whips" at lerox. When people used to hold hands and run, crouched down low, through the crowd and other people would jump on the end of it biggrin.gif

the parachute guy hanging on the ceiling at lerox biggrin.gif

john the beast on the door at lerox biggrin.gif

the underground resistance party that got shut down by the police soon as they'd finished playing. Made up for it with a wicked night at Lerox with T-1000 though. biggrin.gif

The crippled gothic dwarf that used to be seen around the place and would invariably freak people out biggrin.gif

HMC's four deck sets biggrin.gif

HMC vs Paul Fairburn double mix set biggrin.gif

THE TOILETS laugh.gif

Nu Nu by Liddel Townsell (sp?), wicked track...got it on vinyl biggrin.gif Holy crap I'd forgotten about the Nu Nu dance and everyone doing it as one and following each other....didn't know about Rent a Crowd or it being "our" track as such??? maybe I just need a memory refresher though cool.gif Anyway yeah I remember all that....wicked days. biggrin.gif

------------------------------------------

Does anyone remember the guy people used to call "Old Man Techno"? I can't remember his name, I think it was Paul somebodyorother..not sure though. We (Troy and myself) bought some kickarse records off him, including SAS Amber Groove (love that track biggrin.gif )....apparently the records were infected with microscopic vinyl mites that would rip through our entire collection and eat all our records if we didn't fumigate them immediately, we both kind of new that was just some serious paranoid bullshit but we fumigated the records anyway....can never be too careful when it comes to preserving the vinyl collection laugh.gif

Anybody remember any of the following people as well? James (really tall guy, used to wear lacrosse shirts a lot....he was my boyfriend for a while), Sarah (pronounced Sahra), Danny (surfer Danny with the dreadlocks, later shaved his head...died in 93), Celia, George and Heidi, Julia (little Jools the acid queen with the bleached blonde hair)...there was another couple of friends of James, Sarah etc as well....they were a couple, had a kid together way back in 93 I think, can't for the life of me think of their names, damn......who else *thinks*....Danny (with the acne scars...sorry dude don't know how else to describe you if you read this), Tim...little tripper Tim that used to be a bit of a sleaze from memory but in a good/funny way (if that makes any sense), Michelle and (the girl who got asked for ID by the cops one night and proceeded to grab onto the cops jacket and start repeating "I love you man, I really love you" laugh.gif ) anyway she used to hang out with Mandy and mandy and another girl were always inseperable (another one I can't remember the name of.....ahhh hell there's probably a lot of people I've failed to mention laugh.gif

So yeah anyone on that list ring a bell....is anyone on that list on this forum? biggrin.gif

BTW if anyone remembers a skinny girl with long dark hair wearing a black cat suit and a floppy black velvet hat with smiley badges on the brim, running around Lerox tripping the light fantastic wink.gif laugh.gif .....that was me!!! biggrin.gif I also used to wear really baggy scarab jeans or just oversized normal jeans with a black and white stripey top (although that was more control days I guess) or baggy jeans with a purple chapel gesture t-shirt, with the obligatory hat (you know the style) pulled so far down over your ears that you had to crane your neck to peer our from underneath amd see where you were going laugh.gif the other main outfit people might remember me in was orange shorts, pucci coloured stockings, black laceup shoes with silver smiley faces on them, the same velvet hat mentioned before and a black and white op art swing shirt, topped off with a big cheesy grin biggrin.gif

*hmm why is this editing previous posts instead of making a new one, oh well guess I must have pressed a wrong button or something"

anyway something else I remembered.....does anyone remember the stuffed Garfield that was being kicked/passed around Lerox one night? that was my Garfield.....I've still got him too laugh.gif

oh shit yeah and who remembers doing "freak out the ferals runs"....running into a dodgy hindley street club, dancing like lunatics for a minute or so and then running out again leaving them completely effing stunned, like WTF was that laugh.gif

I noticed s well that apart from Jase31's comment (I assume to bump this thread back up to the first page) noone seems to have posted much since 2005? where are all the old school lerox people? we should all be reminsicing together in here smile.gif

I thought twinkies was another word for gay people huh.gif

I think at the moment, Le Rox is being used as a cabaret venue with cabaret shows on every Friday/Saturday night. Would be a good venue to use and enough floor space for different themed arenas.

I have a heap of photos to post of me and the crew just need a scanner. I was just wondering if any of you could remind me of what we used to get up to as we were almost always half tanked from the " Union" pub and that was just the start of the night.

cant remember too many specifics from lerox shenanigans of your crew , but they were ever present and a force to be recond with( my memories from there are very melted together for specifics)

I do remember there was a rave at the vision warehouse, and at the back of the rave was a little side street , so there was a house on that street that was full of "hardcore " metal heads
they were out the front on couches drinking and abusing the nancy ravers that were wandering back and forth
the ravers ignored them until they said something to a couple of girls that walked past, one of which was a scallys girlfriend .....................
so next minute roughly 5 to 7 scallys left the rave to sort this issue out
the metal head pissed themselves , bolted inside and had to move all the furniture against the inside of the door to keep the boys from getting in and they really WANTED to get in
they were very respectful after that

at control they were using so much smoke that it started coming out through the tin on the roof
the owners freaked and said the place was on fire and Im pretty sure there were two scallys or look alikes, running around on the roof snifffing the smoke coming out and confirming it wasnt from fire , so we all piled back inside anmd partied on

coded there are a number of thread regarding the old lerox days on here maybe if you "search word scally and also lerox "as some one else was on here ages ago saying that they were part of the original scally crew

would have to be one of your mates if not you

anyhow Ive dragged some up for you

just hit "view new posts"

Alex and Aron have a video of Origin and the four plays that were after. All we need to do is find them.

The list could go one but I'm having a relapse. biggrin.gif
