hi just though ill let you revheads out there that theres drifting is on monday nites at port gawler 6.00pm every monday

legal? or do the cops now know where to bust everyone?

legal. its the old motorbike track.

$30 or something entry fee. max 15 cars a week i believe.

ill be up there soon as crash damage fixed

its legal on the old go kart track. where JMS held the first few drift days. mostly 2nd/3rd gear dirft pretty tight.

go kart... motorbike. whatever

drifting on 2nite starts at 6.00 pm its free to wacth and free to enter im going in my car and ill dance around the track anthems style

thought it was a 30$ track fee?

I managed my own private drifting session on the weekend. Nearly went off the side of the road into a river bed. I must remember to NOT turn off the stability control when I'm lashing through the hills in the wet ...

ive never been to the drifts, i would love to go one time. seeing all them hotted up cars slipping and sliding all over the place would be great

i got a few mates that drift out there, will have to sort somthing out one day Ham, shame i work most saturdays tho. so i miss the competitions

well.....its a turbo rear wheel drive mitsubishi, but hamy's a pretty easy guy

uuuummmm nice, now that i have a RWD oldschool 280zx uummm sweet for drifting, i might head out in the next few weeks

unless of course it actually works more then 20% of the time and the head doesnt blow on it and... too many problems to list.

Nothing stopping you drifting in a front wheel drive car.....just takes lots more entry speed and some savage use of the handbrake

I'd still prefer my rear drive turbs anyday, but if someone wants me to tear their fwd car to pieces, I'm more that happy to show how it's done

oh how so true... my mate goes skitz with his mitsi vrx.

id give a fwd a go too.. as dav said the basics more speed and strong hand break i throw my magna into hand break turns alot.. but it doesnt have the guts to pull it thru a slide... just aroudn corners

the rx7 aint a drifter.. more of a circuit/corners/grip car but in the right conditions i have alot of fun...


12a NON turbo dont give me as much power as Absent1 or Davin have..

but i guess i drive in other ways aswell. such as mallala circuit racing love it out there!!!

i prefer my hillclimbs, i hate drift because of the excessive wear and tear on the car, at least hillclimb the poor car doesnt cop it so hard.

70kw in a rotors more potent than 70kw in a piston due to the way they operate that and my 7-8000rpm gear changes

one thing ihave learned. never talk up a mitsi. they ALWAYS break!

sigma has more torque then you mr. 12A actually it has more torque then any other 4 cylinder i think... just uses more petrol

The only unfortunate part of this is, I will be trying to sell my baby in the near future. I am just waiting on having my photo shoot done for a magazine and then she's up for sale.

Then I probably wont have a car for a while, as the car I want to buy is fairly hard to come by...

Well for those that want to put their money where their mouths are, there is an open day at Mallala this saturday, also there are street drags at AIR every couple of weeks....

I myself will be at Mallala saturday with my rex and hoping to run a mid to high 11 at the next AIR meet

well i just got my phone call from the magazine which is going to feature my car and its all go!!

Photo shoot will be in approx 3weeks time, so it gives me a chance to get it ready and to finish working on the rally car before its 1st event later this month...

No drag racing or track work for me until photo shoot is done. Cant afford the risk of braking it or bending it..

my car will be in the street commodores mag.

next monday its on a gen if any1 wants to meet up at the drags (A.I.R) at 5.30pm and we can take off about 6.00pm and go to the drifting.

cool i had no idea there were this many car e people on anthems. Any of you guy's got pics of your babies? i used to be into drifting a fair bit never in competition though just on really quiet roads where noone hardly ever goes. I had an AE86 Aus spec sprinter wasn't exactly a powerhouse but with the suspention it had and a little wet weather it would be so controllable in drift. But unfortunately it had to go to make way for my current mess about / daily driver a lightly modded n12 exa turbo, so no drift for me. My pride and joy would have to be my bike so if we organise a Street drag anthems day i would like to see what it would do on a track.

What a good idea...

rich i usually compete in the Modern Regularity events a Mallala. but i dont think im renewing my CAMS licence this year. so wont be competing. took out a couple of race wins. was pretty happy with my efforts

Hey del what were you racing and what class were you in?

racing my Street driven 12a NON turbo series 2 RX-7. not the quickest car around but in regularity racing u set your own lap times and achive your win by hitting your lap times. kinda like dial in drag racing.

as for class.. street class with anything form toyota echos to ferrari's and a couple of porche's compete lots of rx7s as our club really gets involved in it. a STI, MR2, few falcon/commo v8s turbo mk2 escort mini's etc etc ive even seen a daihatsu mira compete!

good old street class..... dont have to tow the car up to the track then

just to let everyone know, this monday night, the 27th, is the last Pt Gawler drift night...

there is going to be a night of 'pro-only' drift on soon..i can't remember the date, but i'm sure Softy could tell us...i think he's going to be in it?

yeha im keen to come out on the pro only night for a watch.. i havnt seen my mate softy drifting since the old blue s13...


and that was years ago!!!!!

must ask him.. i think it was the 6th from memory??

take a while to get ther ein peak traffic.. frkn.... take the 7 or the magna... scooter to slow for that distance!

this is a pic if my WA drifter, got rid of it and bought my current ride, my rex... havent looked back... the Sil80 had 340hp atw, nothing better than sliding that in 3rd...
