When I ripped my CD collection a while back, I had 40 GB
there and then. I've been buying CDs since about 1990,
and have a lot of old tresor / novamute / +8 /
and jungle stuff.
Using mp3 for a legitimate purpose and for which it was designed.....
BWAAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!
oh, you were serious...
if i'm going to back up my own cd's i prefer to use Ogg-Vorbis
Pro's:
Better compression than mp3
Better quality for the same size as mp3
Entirely free - mp3 players have to pay royalties...
Can do lossless compression - Ogg-FLAC
Fully supported by Winamp and many other free mp3 players
Con's:
not supported by windos media player... wouldn't really call that a con though, actually the fact it can't is a con by MS to only tell you of things that'll make them and other people money...
we need to have a mega lan to sync everyone's music collections..
