Hi all,

Im looking for old PC bits and peices. Ram, Processors, Cards, mainboards etc.

Heres the snap:

My 54yo dad who suffers from the worst kind of cronic depression has just been given a place at Uni studying astro physics in 2006. I honestly can't remember the last time i saw him so happy!

The PC he has atm is a peice of shit Packard bell PII 300 and i can not afford to buy him a better one, nor can he due to his illness he can not work, so i would like to build him something using bits and pieces that you have no use for.

Anything would help. I know its a long shot but i thought i'd ask anyway!

My work has a few old comps- are a couple of years old (i dont know how old coz im not that clever) but i know the boss wants to get rid of them, they still work. I could scavage one if you like- just let me know

8 gig hdd
MOBO to suit a socket A amd board.
spare case
spare CD drive
32mb vid card.

all avialble for your use if needed.

juts no RAM or CPU

tho i do have a AMD barton 2500, that suits that motherboard. but under stress of gaming or burning shit... it closes down.. if its just a work PC then should be fine. will give to u to test if u wish.

yes mobo is motherboard. mobo and CPU are from my old PC before i rebuilt... and rebuilt.. and rebuilt....

im almost happy now...

its a DDR based mobo with 8x agp

its an EPOX 8rda+

Oldskoolie im free pretty much all day tomorow less somthing comes up. right now im in a madrush getting shit organised and bout to head out

Cris, i hope dont mind but Oldskoolie has first option, due to it being his thread and my initial offer. ill see wta else i got lying round. tho i did just get rid aof a AMD 1600+ mobo and 768mb ram to suit.. only last week.... woulda been perfect system for this need... sold that for 140$ with 64mb vid card 20 gig hdd.

Would love to afford it but i cant, nor can i handle trying to teach my dad MAC stuff when he only just learnt the difference between a file and a folder.

yeha i got a spare p2 mmx200 here aswell.. not much good. i also hav available a 128mb SD ram.. 2x64mb dimms any help to anyone ?? a couple of 14 inch monitors..
