I've made loads of friends through raving, but way more overseas than in Australia. They just seem to be much more friendly and willing to chat over there.
That line from the Street's tune "What 's your name, where you from, what you on?" is almost a mantra out in the London clubs - and of course it helps having an Aussie accent, they ALL want to hear about our beautiful country!
Raving in Australia has enhanced many existing friendships for me, as being absorbed in our favourite music is such an overwhelming and emotional experience for most of us, sharing that with someone is really a very special thing.
Chucksta - you also brought a tear to my eye, nice to know that music has brought such fulfilment to all aspects of your life
