AT THE MOMENTOE I.......
study business fulltime at adelaide tafe.....
do a bit of photographic and promotional modelling.......
i also just scored a job at myer in the fashion department.....
i do a bit of motivational speaking, here and there, like for youth week and at schools......
last, but most definately not least, im in the works of creating a program called "been there, done that" for teens or kids or anyone for that matter, to run at schools and other such things. the goal im trying to reach is to have a program run by youth, for youth. to have real people who have been through it and can give real advice. i know that when i was younger i saw a lot of people about my issues and i bet you none of them had been through what i had! they just made me want to fuck up even more! so yeah i wanna make a difference and help people who think they can't be helped.

BUT IN THE FUTURE I WANT TO.......
and once i get some time i really wanna go and begin some training at fresh fm and have my own show or at least co-have a show.....
at the begining of next year i'm gonna study cosmetic retail and beauty therapy.........
eventually i want to study youth work and open up my own drop in centre and expand on my "been there, done that" program!

fuck i crap on! lol..... please if anyone is interested in being part of the been there, done that program PM me! you too can help make a difference biggrin.gif

I also work 20 - 40 hours (depending on when I can, if it's holidays, etc etc) at Kart Mania at Gepps Cross (being promoted to assistant manager in two weeks).

I'd also consider myself a full time raver - though that's more of a money drain biggrin.gif

Grand Prix, Team Endurance (race meeting things) are done by laps, not time.

It's casual driving thats done on a timed basis - but can't you see the reason for it? Upsides I mean.

There are downsides though, I do agree completely smile.gif

lol actually im apart of a national committee to combat bird flu if there is an outbreak here. Theres a 4% chance it will reach here and under 1% chance it will mutate. Nothing to worry about the media just blows it out of context. U know what theyre like!

They compare mutation timeframes against other strains of avian influenza and they take into consideration migratory birds; their origin, their species etc. You can check out the WHO website aswell they got some fairly good info.

Well so far i seem to be the only sorry person who'se a check out chick, and for Bilo at Greenacres...
I get to say 'Hi how are you' a gazillion times, wear a smile, put up with shitty customers who we laugh at behind their backs, call for assistance from other departments who only come 33% of the time, sneak a convo or two out of my fellow work mates and plan drinkin nights for the weekends... sometimes i get as little as 3 hours work, sometimes i get as much as 10... and that sucks cos its so random, short shifts feel like a waste of time and long ones feel like you dont see the day...!!!!
But its does have its bonuses, stock that the big boss wants to get cleared cos we cant sell it is up for grabs, we just were made the best checkout of the year and got free movie tickets, once a month the bosses cook us up a storm of marinated steak, sausages and chops for us to have, when its quiet i can walk around the store returning stock, and my favourite, the customers who like to come through my checkout because we can chat about crazy things, or one is an old dude who'se always trying to use the latest pick up line, or the young bloke who comes through with just one item just so he can come through my checkout... its great...
and then i get the 'people' who think we revolve around their assholes and will do anything they say when we wont/dont and then get shitty cos what they are asking for isnt going to happen...

we have more reasons to say no then to say yes trust me!
so thats my little bit...
if you know me feel free to come visit me, even tho im not meant to serve ppl i know, theres not much ppl can do when your already in my queue...

ps, if you hate your cashier because your having to wait an extra minute, just think we might be trying to get a price check, or dealing with a problem customer, or the computers even go on the brink more often then not, we dont deliberately try and make it slow, and when it gets its busy periods, we certainly arent trying to keep you there longer, if we can get more staff on to serve then we will, but sometimes they dont come when called either...

Thanks!! biggrin.gif

Ive always wanted what you chicks think when you get asked "hi how are you" i feel like saying something different like "shit its a killa day out side i bet you hate been here" or "i aint going to ask cause i heard you say it to person before me" but i dont wana get any one in the shit.

I can feel your frustration sometimes when im inline and some snotty nose old lady is crying about something petty. I feel like say get over it and let the chick do her job whats and extra couple mins the pokies are open till late.

Sounds like the upsides are pretty good but.

I am Strata Manager, now that is fun, all day you get complaints from owners over the phone, then you go to after hours meetings (they have to be later so they can eat dinner and watch the news first, i think they forget that we don't get to eat first) and listen to them carrying on about silly things that they won't do themselves so i have to arrange for someone to do it for them. mad.gif

Amyr

Posted by: Ravvy Nov 10 2005, 10:32 AM

yeah saying 'how are you' ten thousand times and getting the same answer of 'yeah im good' can be a little irritating too...! i have a few people say random things which break the ice and thats good!

and, if someones having a spit, its always great when another customer just says enough to put them in their place and shut up because we're not allowed to say anything, but then again, sometimes customers take it too far...

if ppl ask me how i am, my response is usually 'im fabulous!' or 'im really groovy today' because it throws them for a 6, and the more i say i feel that good the better i do feel and the less dragged on the day seems to be... so if you come through my store and you hear me say that, well, then you know who i am!

we had a bloke the other day, hahaha makes me laugh still... a lady was putting up a display for Air Wick Air Freshener, and this bloke for some reason went off at her... anyway he came to right infront of where i was, and he was like... 'FUCK!'... and then he'd do a little turn on the spot and then he'd grumble a bit and then he'd say it again... and then he'd pace and then he'd say it again, and then he got so mad he took out the palm we have at the entrance for the cigarette counter and he threw it across the hall... while im pissing myself laughing at his stupidity, and then he's yellin and goin off his trolly and FAR OUT he was a funny f*ck!!!!! and it was just because she wouldnt give him a free bee or something, mind you that chick had another customer go off at her right after the first bloke, and so she was freakin out the poor thing but from where i was it was hillarious! prolly cos it had nothing to do with me too hahaha!

Posted by: mich Nov 10 2005, 11:43 AM

he he he, you're only 2 years away from being just like them!!! I've been in an out of govt for a while now but doing it the smart way and being a contractor so am less likely to become indoctrinated into governmentitist... it takes a very "special" kind of person to stay in govt for the long term!!!

michr

hahaha! im in a electorate office with a unnamed MP (for my Protection!) but my friend works for DAIS... i wanna stay for the money once my traineeship is over.... once in get out of the parliament dept. i would love to work in admin for SAPOL... but they are prob. all strange too! laugh.gif

melr

Posted by: mich Nov 10 2005, 11:57 AM

trust me love they are... in my current job (working on a project) i liaise with allot of govt agency staff... it doesn't matter where they are from, they are all strange... the SAPOL guys are freaks... they amuse themselves by looking at crime scene photos and rating them.. and make regular trips down the the evidence lockers "just to see what's new"...

govt really isn't so bad, no one really expects that much of you (especially compared to private sector) and the longer you are there the less they expect... if i could handle the endless hours of boredom and working with obese god botherer's I'd stay here.. getting a bit old for me now though!

Oh you are sooo right... makes me mad though because the people that have been there for years and years have winged so much that management have given up on them.. so the younger ones that are still new and easy manipulated (like myself) get to pick up the slack!

SA companies only and generally the small to medium businesses that can't get help out of the federal govt. Giving away the govt's money is fun!!

Doing a traineeship sorta thing and getting 1st 2nd and 3rd certificate in horticulture along with other stuff.

P.S. If anyone knows where theres a 5 day a week office job earning $14 an hour or higher available for a nobody like myself (i have good computer knowledge) then get back to me stat!
