Unexplained

OK
so I am sitting at the regency tavern at about 8.00
argueing through tea- we are stressed about stuff
restaurant is almost empty
cieling is 6m or about 18 foot tall 2 small fans going at roof level
there is a 9 foot tall cocos palm in the centre of the room near us
the leaves are not really moving

no one is wtih in 5 meters of us

so I hear a scraping sound and see the wine of the month fold out ,slide across the table
about 30 cm of noise and movement

that is the table next to me

so I get up and ask the bars staff if they turned on the fans or adjusted them--- they did not and ask why I ask

I have never seen anythying I can not explain
Its a small thing , but it should not be possible

the laminated wine of the month thing

I am thinking air , but it justb doesnt add up that the cocos palm wasnt affected


this is the first ever thing I am unable the explain

you will find that sometimes the fans wont affect the palm tree yet has sufficient air flow to affect something else, like the wine list thingo..

either that, or your trippin mate.. see someone

Its possible that the fans created enough downward force of air on the table top, causing the air to bounce back upwards and lift the wine list enough to carry it a short distance... similar to the way a hovercraft works. (Curiosity Show fan )

The pressure system in and around the regency tavern is quite strange.... The proof is in my golf game down there...

I had a similar sort of thing when i was younger...

We had a clairvoyant friend who used to do readings for ppl from our house.

One day I was walking through the loungeroom and I noticed that she left her tarot cards on the table, being the curious lad I am I went over to have a look at them. As I got closer, the top 3 or so cards just slid off the pack.

I turned the remaining top card of the pack over, I can't quite remember what one it was, but it freaked me out. No-one else was in the house... which freaked me out even more.

After a while I deduced it to the fact that cards have a plastic coating and there must've been a pocket of air between the cards, when I got closer the air from my body pushed the few cards off the deck.

Even still, I slept with the light on for a week...

Yeah that is interesting. And you know strange things do happen, things like that have happened to me too. Sometimes you shouldn't look into HOW it happened, but WHY.... Just something for you to think about

nah - the wine thing was upright
in the perfect position to catch the wind
I was able to duplicate the effect by blowing on it with considerable force

but
no doors opened
the place was almost empty
the fans were slow and are very high- air tends to mushroom
I had a good look around at the logistics of the situation

the air seemed almost dead still.............I will write it off to air
as I have no other explanation , but I am struggling to believe a "short gust" in a still space of air

i want something spooky to happen to me!

hmmm that regency tavern place has always been a bit odd. I spent a bit of time down there as a youngster as my older brother worked on the golf course collecting the stray golf balls. We always went into the tavern for free soft drink when he was done and there have been a number of "strange" incidents in that place if you believe the regulars. I was sitting up on the bar one day with my drink next to me, everyone was across the room and the bar tender was clearing a couple of ashtray's off some tables so he wasn't near the bar at all, my drink "fell" onto the floor and spilt all over the bar and floor. I didn't touch it, i was next to me but not close enough for me to knock over and there was no one behind me or near enough to me to have done it... no gust of wind, nothing. The place has creeped me out ever since. We even found some old jewellery and photo's burried near there in a flower bed when we were helping them dig up a bit of the garden to re-plant some flowers...the stuff we found was very, very old and the photo's were that old sepia type... spooky!

i think it is just one of those things, there are so many things out there that can't be easily explained, it's all part of what makes life so wonderful.... mystery is a great thing. Knowing everything would be boring!!!

and to add... maybe it's just the universe's way of reminding you that there is more to life than what we know or whatever we may be wrapped up in that moment...

those are a couple of awesome stories.. some would say it was some telling you something other would just say a persants in the room... in fact in mich's case some would even say that some was trying to tell everyone else in the room not to leave you alone...
I have seen some interesting things.. one of the best things came from a child and I will never forget it.. he was most in touch with his mind but didnt know how to chanell it... the child was my friend brother he was 4 at the time... wanted a drink but noone was getting up to get it he was fighting with his sister to ordering her to get him a drink the glass he uses was on the table near the middle... all of a suddent the glass was flung across the table and shattered at my friends feet... we all figured it was the child or some kinda of angry spirt who didnt like to see him being treated that way or something because noone had tuoched the table let alone moved or the child himself... I lost touch with the family not long after that as they moved away.. so I dont know if it happened agian or anything along those lines.. but wow it was huge had me spun for a while..

so yeah I dont know what to beleive in your case Jase but it could have been someone in the room telling you to stop stressing and remind you there is more to life...

Yeh, i really shoulda asked what the card meant, but just kept it to myself i guess...

the old spot tavern is haunted, and there is photographic evidence to support the claims of this.
also charlies diner, gepps cross (?) and the one at brighton, are also said to be haunted......then we get to Kapunda, which is said to be australia's most haunted town, especially the old girls reformatory and the cemetery. the port is said to be rife with buildings that have strange goings on,
and i hear that heaven is also full of spirits - unfortunately they are unable to be channeled into a glass due to licensing problems

had a few experiences, all at my uncle and aunties place in wynyard - tasmania..

spend a little bit of time there on holidays as a kid.

the most serious/definate one - i was about 5, with my 2 cousions - 7 - 9, and my uncle and auntie - all sleeping in the same room - cant remember why - anyways, all of us noticed a blue/white glow move slowly from the corner of the room, untill it reached our feet.. the colour and depth of it varied, the vibe / feeling of the room changed - all felt negative..
no cars, (middle of no where) curtains FULLY drawn, all of us on the verge of sleeping.. we all saw it. all felt the exact same thing..

couple of other weird ones too there..

Thats heaps wierd.

Perhaps there was another "presence" in the room?

I am a total believer in spirits hanging around homes/pubs and I reckon thats what it is. But hey, thats just my opinion!

I think when I was around 6 yrs old we came home from a night out and my mum and myself saw a lady in our hallway. My mum didnt mention anything to me but I mentioned to her who was that lady, she told me what lady. Years after I found out my mum saw her too. She also saw her on a number of other occasions.

As for kapunda and the reformatory nickdub Ive heard some pretty crazy shit thats happened due to seances etc being carried out there. I'd never check it although I have heard it has been demolished now.
