ok, after our Ashes shambles, is this lil tour worth watching/being taken seriously?
in theory it sounds like a great idea, putting the top One Day and Test Cricket team against the World's best cricketers, but in reality, is this working? do you think aussies and the world are giving this the credit it deserves?

i'm finding myself not caring much for this at all. especially with the aussies winning the one-day series so easily, in my eyes those matches pretty much lost the whole idea any shards of credibility it had to begin with..

i reckon it'll be pretty damn cool seein warney bowlin at em' especially lara... the one dayers were a bit of a dissapointment though.
im not gonna take it seriously, its pure novelty value for me

im intereste din watching it.. well atleast the last 10 overs of each innings that australia bats....

id have though there woulda been a hell of alot more competition. considering the team that is made up from around the world. so many talented players. should put on a hell of a bigger show than that !

yeh i thought so too..

maybe this just displays how much team spirit really counts for?

i think these games should be abandoned.
i'd rather have proper sides playing, than one side playing a slapped together side that cant work as a team.

there are some glaring selection issues in this "world 11". there are a few names here on reputation alone not on previous calendar years averages.

for starters lara's recent form did not warrant selection, and his form so far has shown that. and even Shaoib Akthars FIRST CLASS average is pathetic!!!

and why RAHUL DRAVID is in the top 7 batsman in the 1 day game i will never know!. that man has a strike rate of a little over 70!!!!!!!!!!!!. test cricket yeah his a stayer but his hardly an enforcer.

the writing was on the wall before this series began. i was so looking forward to it as well. its a great dissapointment, i hope this test match salvages something.

in an ideal world i would have had Marvin Attapatu, Sachin Tendulker and Steve Harmisson replace those three. I understand sachin withdrew.... maybe marv did too. but there has to be better options.

..... concept cant work with no real insentive for the world 11. its like playing state of origin for the allies.... who the f*** are the allies it aint even your state!!! its a combo coz your state alone will get smashed by a single other footy state so we combine you with other shitty states to give u a chance!!!!!!!!! please!

if they backed the matches up as a charity event it may have been backed more by the world players, many of whom have family or friends effected in recent global tragedy regions.

the ICC did just donate sum money to help the relief effort in India and Pakistan after the recent huge earthquakes. shame they didn't acknowledge that with these matches and make this another fundraiser for it. at least it would have given this matchup more meaning.

i like the idea of seletion on merit, not name/rep. i think this is how the South African dude (forgot his name - he's a newbie young'n) got given the World XI captaincy this time around. many questioned the call, but it was given to him on merit seeing how well he apparently is captaining the S.A team.
maybe this series should be held further after the Annual ICC Cricket Awards where the World Team can be announced. then a month or so later the match can proceed with as many of the World Team members hopefully being available to play.

looks like the test will be over tomorrow as well sad.gif

australias problem is they dont even no who graham smith is!

his a great player. been captianing the SA's for the past 3 years and was obvious choice if he was selected. only other current or former captian in the side is Lara and the way his going i wouldnt give him any more weight then he has to endure already.

he got the SA test captaincy after only 4 matches if i recall correctly?
selectors must see sumthing spectacular in him over there!
