Chain Of Ponds winery is awsome. Thats where we thought of having our engagement party.

Wedding - Carrick Hill by far would be the coolest!

Chain of Ponds winery has a nice setting overlooking lush green hills and vines. It also has a B&B which they can include in the package. I like this venue because its just far enough into the hills to be not to far into the hills. Good food too!!!!!

Nice place, check it out

meika
F**k em...... unless they're rich!!!!!!!! tongue.gif
jk.
At least if u did it that way you wouldn't have to deal with everyone fussing and having their say, you can runaway, relax, party and just get married when you feel like rocking up to the alter.

i'm getting married in january in the botanic gardens [by the palm house], reception at the alchemy room, entertainment centre..

neither of us are gushy romantics or religious [though our families are] so we just chose somewhere that would suit our personalities and be easy for everybody [my partner has a huge italian family].. and the entertaiment centre has a good rep for service and food [with cooper's pale as standard wink.gif], plus we were both into alchemy stuff when we met..

Paul, you are one of my kind..... I was thinking more like Borneo, but Thailand is closer...or in a temple in India....must be at sunset too wink.gif

No stress wedding....sweeet!!!

Congrats Mel

well i hav my wedding planned already lol
i wana get married on the beach (near horseshoe bay/pt elliot) at night in the summer.....reason for the location is cos it a place where i spent my summers while i was growing up and they be some of the best memorys of my life.

.....is there a place that means alot to u that u think will be suitable for wat u are after??
combining the memories of wat u had done in a location and the new memories that u are wanting to create wid ur boy would be special
mel
we were looking at the botanic gardens.... but the problem we are having at the moment is where to have the engagement party!!!! too stressful!!

For an engagement party have a look at the cellars below the Lion. Good atmosphere with the right lighting. I had a party down there with beats rolling off the tables a while ago, it sounded and looked k00l. Check it out. cool.gif

I'm going to a friends wedding in the Belair National Park soon. I've been there heaps (growing up in that area tents to have that affect), and I think it's a great idea to have a wedding there. My friends’ wedding is going to be at Karka Pavilion inside the park. If you’re considering an out door wedding have a look at all the different areas.

Best of luck to you both. smile.gif
mel
thanks!! i think Belair is up there in the choices, we live at Bridgewater and most of our friends are there.... would almost be easier to go with paul's idea....
Maori Messiah
SAINT PAULS!!!! ALL THE anthems DJs CAN PLAY AND YOU CAN CHARGE ENTRY tongue.gif
=MS=
How about in 'Las Vegas' by Elvis Presley.....

*smp*
or on a beach with gold spray painted banana lounges for the bride and groom....he he he can you tell I don't take weddings very seriously...maybe coz both of my parents are on #3 wink.gif

But Mel, you say you have to go with a cetain kind of day for 'family reasons'...understand that ....Botanic Gardens have been mentioned previously....They are just gorgeous for the ceremony - unless your family expects a church wedding, and the Botanic restaurant is a lovely venue too....in the heart of the city so central for everyone...and when the reception is over and you and your beloved have left for your first night as man and wifey your guests dont have far to go to continue partying tongue.gif

Good luck to you both...congrats on finding each other!!!

You should look at the Palace then, I'm sure your future husband would be happy laugh.gif
mel
haha! i would be like, "check out the rack on her!" we decided the engagement party at The Astor on Pultney st... upstairs. and the wedding will be at Victor Harbour but not sure what venue yet, looking this weekend at golf/country clubs for reception.... but not sure about the ceremony..... too many people for on the beach....
HEFTY
Well I looked laugh.gif (question leaves it open to a lot of "its")
mel
you looked in the palace? laugh.gif
mark0matic
How about having it at Crazy Horse, so the guests don't feel left out?

J/k. biggrin.gif

Ok.. no one is allowed to steal my idea....

I would go for a park for the wedding ceremony. There are these trees in Golden Grove who's leaves turn orange in Autum (like burnt orange and golden) definatley at that time of year.

and my whole wedding would be 1920's. the men in gangsta suits (pinstripes with hats) and the bridesmaids in "flapper" girl dresses. my wedding dress is staying secret from everyone!

Fumo Blu would be a nice place for an engagement. it is very classy (being a cocktail bar).
**TROUBL3**
Congratulations!
If your looking for somewhere in the adelaide hills my sister just got married and had her reception at the mount osmond golf course which is beautiful and the best part was the food was awesome! (most important in my eyes)
mel
yeah we had friends marry there so we decided we better not copy them since we are the next wedding after theirs.... and we met in Victor so i say make everyone drive there! MWAhahahaha!

Well maybe im going to all the weddings for you... from oct through to mid march iv gone/am going to 8 weddings... and 4 of them are in january... two are a day apart on the first weekend and two are around the last weekend....

IM SO BLOODY SICK OF WEDDINGS RIGHT AT THIS MOMENT!!! heheheeheh...
but i do love them...

One we went to was at Warrawong Earth Sanctuary and that was on a Saturday *when theyre normally closed* and that was just gorgeous, cept we had rain all that day, but we'd gone up the week before and it was just beautiful...

NOTE: to all potential marriages coming up...
if you plan on gettin married in Sping at Warrawong, be warned that most animals are frisky and have a bit of WOO HOO at inappropiate times of the service/day/night... LOL!

And one that was a week after was at a local church and then we went up to Cuddlee Creek and THAT was gorgeous too...

so there ya go, theres my 15 cents worth!
BTW, best of luck to all getting hitched, you lucky devils you!
spnky_mnky
I am sure that the monkey man that would stalk you wouldnt that much.... much like lenny and carl.

I think that this weekend will be a huge one!! I have no intention on keeping my pants by the end of the night!!

Still trying to think if thats a good or bad thing!
