I just pulled out some old Core magazines to lock in some dates.....only problem is, the clowns running Core run out of numbers and never seem to state the year anywehere LOL

ahh i think some of the later issues had the year as 2012 as well which doesn't help, don't know who was responsible for that

maybe we need to get together with our flyers and core issues and go through them..

i think the last decade was a bit hazy for a lot of people..

this is mainly large one-off parties right? what about smaller one-offs? [like the clinic techno parties]

haha..maybe we've taken on the impossible project

Going along with the whole theme of old flyers and piecing together timelines, wouldn't it be great to scan old Core magazines and post them for everyone to read. It brought back a lot of memories, flicking through the few copies I have. Paul, and others, what are your stocks of these old publications like? I'm willing to spend a few hours in front of the scanner, as I'm sure we'll end up with something unique that quite a few people would visit anthems to see.

haha! i rememebr at one point realising that i couldn't make it to every rave, and stopped feeling like i was missing out when i couldn't get to one..

a while back i talked with mr John I~ and i think in terms of scanning etc.. we need to set up some guidlines and a place to upload with updates on what was done and not done etc and intention to scan etc, so people could look up what needed to be done and scan accordingly..

distributed work is the future!

eg: i think 150 dpi would be fine for reading text etc, grayscale for most pages at actual size.. don't know about the larger issues though..

Something at the Lion Factory on North Terrace (think it might have been one of the Fringe raves) in 1991 or 1992. Just before it was demolished to build the Lion Arts Centre - I think it was actually condemned at that point!! Must've been 92, cos the Fringe is in even years.... All I remember is they had a bucketload of fake tickets for the next rave scattered all over the chill-out room floor with a bunch of real ones in amongst it - tripped out people sifting through tickets by candle-light, most amusing

There was that shitty one down at Lonsdale in some factory in Aug (?) 91. I remember everyone having to go to the Seacliff Yacht Club carpark to get the "secret" location from Paul Fairburn's Mel so that the cops didn't know the location, and then getting to the venue and finding the cops doing searches as you walked in the door.
Then there were all the parties at the Lion Arts when Paul relaunched himself as DJ Excitement in late 91.

There was a party Called Aquaessence in july 97 @ St Pauls I remember this as i was employed as a dancer that night. My Self and the guy who taught me to dance with two others whom we didn't know. Lucky for the free Ruski's other wise we would have got nothing out of it. Not paid as not enough ppl attended

If you want to put the event up without YEARS I can work out the dates because 90% where on Saturdays and the othe 10% stand out enough to work out special days (ie long weekendm thursday, friday, christmas, etc)...

I remember a time before internationals touring when it was all locals, and I certainly remember since they have been touring. But I don't ever remember the buzz surrounding the first ones touring. THinking about it....it must have been farkin huge having the first couple of international guests!

Wow, I guess I started out later on than I at first thought.

My first rave was Ultraworld I at the gaol - and I fell in love with the whole scene on that night.

Everywhere I went, everyone I looked at - all I got was BIG smiles - which was probably just as well, as I was having real trouble talking as it turned out

Quantum at the UniSA/Levels was a joint IP and UniSA Student Union production, not just IP.

And I think the Adrave parties have been missed :

Soundscape (at the Adelaide Uni boatsheet) - April 1995
Captain Krunch (the notorious US hacker/phone phreak)
was in attendance. That bastard smelled - he might have
been a genius, but had no idea about personal hygiene.


Mindscape (same venue) - July 1995. Atom 1 came over
from Victoria for this one from memory.

Lunatrance (Good Friday 1996), outdoor venue near
Stirling or Mylor or somewhere. Heaven shut early that
night, and somebody down there handed out some flyers,
and we had a crap load of uninvited Heavenites arrive
and the party exploded.

I've got a bunch of old flyers in a box with lots of my old shit still @ my mum's in her garage, but the box is WWAAAYYY buried so will be a big task to get to that box....but it's on the horizon cos she's doing a big cleanout so will post when i get em...did i see somewhere Paul that u wanted fotos of old flyers?! im sure i did somehwere?
