Any other Java coders out there on anthems?

I have been learning Java for a little over a year now and everytime I think I am getting the hang of it something pops up that I have not seen before and I get all confused again.
I was hoping to find another code-monkey to chat about stuff with ...

"We have a question ... Do you love your Soft-Ware?"

Just to start things off - I have been using Eclipse for a while and have no problems with it, except that maybe it is a little too full-featured for my needs. Maybe I will just go back to Vim and javac ...

Any thoughts ...

Are you talking about Javascript or Java?

oh, back in the days of Uni (my first degree), about 6 years ago, I graduated.. 4.5 years of uni and I learn to code in SQL, SQL/Plus, C/C++, some Java, Ada, Pascal, Fortran, MIPS asm, Haskel, Prolog, very little perl, some HTML, and I think thats it.. a fair bit. once you understand the fundamentals of programming and program flow, its piss easy from there..

oh, and the simpsons are on soon WOOHOO hehe

well I am doing Java (J2SE) and writing command line apps at this stage, but of course maintain an open mind smile.gif I have done some jsp and servlets but am trying to improve my coding technique so sticking with applications for now.

Have written some stuff including a web server and client pair, never managed to spend enough time to multi-thread the server but not too hard to do. Now working on CORBA stuff which seems kind of pointless ...

I must admit nothign I have ever done is ready for any sort of release but I am learning lots of stuff.

Paul - I am a big fan of PHP and the possibilities it offers in terms of interactive webpages, this site is a great example, and have used POSTgres in the past. So far have not done any javascript - how hard can it be? laugh.gif
