Which clubs???? They are still using them everywhere I've been recently. Outdoor raves are a different story, as they take about 10 times the effort to keep even a remote amount of smoke around. The wind just blows it away, so only those with big bugets even try to smoke an outdoor event

last time I went to heaven I can't recall there still being a smoke machine in use (about 1-2 years ago).

once i went to Hell [at grenfell tunnels i think] and there was so much smoke i couldn't see my hand in front of my face and they had the strobes going full bore.. i freaked out and had to leave..

Oh my God yes!! I remember making my boyfriend one - all white with some kind of swirly multi-coloured material for the hood and sleeves. Wonder which Goodwill Store it ended up at???

Hey tangent i reckon that shop was called Aparallel. It was just a small shop & sometimes I have still seen the guy who worked there. i dont know him though.

I used to have a whole heap of clothing from that place, but now all I got left is my overalls that are still way too big for me to fit into. Nice and baggy. That's how I liked it. They used to have stores in Myer Centre (when Dazzleland existed) and one on Melbourne Street. I'd love for the person of that label to make me a pair of pants.

I don't think a lot of ravers understand what it costs them to see internationals. Either much higher tickets prices, or less energy put into sound, lighting and decor. Everyone stands in awe at how nice Paul is giving away hundreds of tickets, but you can be sure there would be no giveaways if we had to pay $10 000 for an international.

Long live the locals.....we still have a lot of talent in Adelaide, and we shoul be proud

The basket range raves were Excalibur 1 & 2. I missed the first but the second was so good ( what i can remember of it!!) DAMC and Flip playing live.

Just to set everything straight on this subject, we were called the SCALLYS. We were following a football (soccer) fan movement that started in Liverpool in the '70s and it had a bit of a resurgence in the late '80s and early '90s with the emergence of the new Manchester music scene - Happy Mondays, Stone Roses etc. Although we may have sometimes seemed threatening in our group approach (storming through door bitches, queue jumping, never paying entry, stealing drinks, soccer chants, the odd scrap in the car park) we were basically a very friendly bunch of blokes!
Most of the fun times sprang out of dodgy old share houses, the original rathole being 77 Sussex st Nth Adelaide. That place is somewhat of a shrine to us now, even though they knocked it down a while ago
There was always an ingrained rivalry between ourselves and who we saw as "the glenelg lot" or "the Hodder Crew". They were a lot better looking and always seemed to have more money, but we were way cooler.

What ever happend to young people giving up there seats for the elderly and pregnent women. I traveld on public transport for the 1st time in years and was standing and had no seats and a few elderly people where standing and young people didnt even reconise them. Mate when i was young i use to get the clip around the ear hole from my mum if i didnt get up quick enough.

i no mate as a mum off 3 and iv only just started to drive people on bus are so rude i always stand for older people just do what i do an tell them move your fat ass an let the elderly people sit you rude little shit it useally works for me

last time i stood up for an old person he told me not be such a young upstart and I got a lecture for the entire bus ride about how young people these days are weak and need the seats - not like the old timers who have legs and know how to use them.. blah, blah, blah
and a pregnant lady gave me a serve when I offered her my seat and told me: "I'm pregnant, not disabled" (pity for her there was a down symdrome person sitting aross the aisle and he got most hurt) so yeah... if I were ever to catch public transport again I'm not offering my seat to anyone - bloody ingrates!

I noticed so many people at FMF will just walk into eachother bump eachother step on other people without even the mention of a "Sorry" or "Excuse Me"! Or in traffic when you are actually kind enough to let someone in and they don't even wave a "thank you"

Frankly i think it's a very sad state of affairs! Manners should alway's be the "in thing!!!"

Yup I agree with you there Celeste. It's sad. Gone are the days of many things. Traditions are evolving, chivalry in most parts is long gone. Sometimes I wish I was around in the days of old.

We're only just 2 weeks into Autumn, give it a chance. You all are quick to forget that Summer took it's sweet arse time getting here, as did the Spring before that, the Winter before that and the Autumn before that and so forth. Well I seem to think it did anyway.

Before you know it it will be Winter and you will all be bitching that it's too cold or rainy or miserable.

well I was one of them. yes it is true !

we all got old and into different things. God we had some fun !!. I remember one night we got on the roof of golf world and got their big ball off and were rolling it through the streets of the city with the police trying to knick us. Took a few alleys etc , etc and got the ball to a safe place. We painted it up as the earth and had it on display at the next rave. Can't remember the name ??

It's not needed because there is no anthems anymore. It's got nothing to do with facebook or myspace, it's to do with anthems. Parties have slowed down, as has interest in said anthems parties.

You are right there. Mind you anthems parties always pull a big crowd, so do big raves like systo and Hard Evo and stuff... if we keep up with the big ones maybe the scene will grow a little more.

The scene has been pulling 50 people in internationals for years, 20 years in fact....

We need AMS, and Kevin Energy and Sharky, they are the best parties... some wicked UK hardcore and Freeform parties
