well it is not all good
like today
I had to do a quick uturn
so for safety and efficiency I flicked the steering wheel a tiny bit and pressed my foot down a little
allowing the LSD to turn the back of the car around ,then let the car straighten up staying in the one lane I wanted
drove up a little further and stopped at the traffic lights
to look straight into the eyes of two police officers waiting at the lights going the other way!
suddenly felt flushed and remember the confiscation laws
but they turned and I remembered to breathe!

load of crap.. fix the roads.. train people how to drive better. better learning and skills testing in REAL WORLD conditions instead of just a few hrs with an instrctor, get a few skid pan days etc and dirt road skills also wet/sandy/muddy conditions.

hoon law is legilised theft of our property for corrupt government usage and revenue raising

look dont get me wrong, but there is alot of stupied yound drivers out there, and yes i WAS?? prob one of them at one time

but for me it was the way i was brought up, my olds had my head screwed on right, and i kinda know what was wright and wrong, not to say the rest of u aint

but there is many ways of going about this, i thing the government has gone bout this all fucked up.

yes i recon that young P platers should have the engine class to a limit, say no more than a 2 lt, non turbo or super charger

but no i dont think thay should have a curfue

oh yer and why is it they always pick in ppl with done up cars and not big rust buckets there most of the time can cause more damge that done up cars

Im on the fence with this hoon laws thingo. I myself dont often go for my late night cruises through the hills any more because there are just too many dickheads on the roads these days. Perhaps im just getting old.

I agree to confiscation of cars. But not to the point of them being sold off by the government, thats shit. If you are caught behaving like a hoon, your car should be impounded for a period of time set by a judge. 2nd time offenders should have limitations imposed on what they can drive as far as engine size goes etc. 3rd time offenders get a CAMS license and free entry to run passes at AIR.

don't like the idea of confiscation in theory but in reality look at nsw - they've had such laws for a couple of years now and i think overall only 2 cars have been confiscated. don't think its up to the cops to say, we're taking ur car for good. it goes before a judge and has to be a pretty serious offence for it to happen.

in the end we, collectively as car enthusiasts, have brought it upon ourselves so we have no one to blame but our own kind and the culture we have allowed to brew.

I reckon education (proper education) is more important than taking cars away. also fixing our extremely shit roads is a must, most out of control accidents are due to pot holes and the likes, I feel the roughness of the road everyday, really ticks me off.

but on the other hand, it can be good, like what I saw today at the lights, some reckless commodore driver taking off at the lights purposely doing a burnout in his old clapped out excuse for a car. it is just plain stupid and wrong. the smoke going up and/or noise could of distracted/cause panic to either an unskilled or elderly person and next thing you know, rear-end crashes.. just stupid, AIR have burnout days, keep it there I say.

anyone know if the anti-hoon laws were introduced to prevent deaths in accidents, or to prevent traffic light drags, stupid acts on cruises, and burnouts and the accompanying damage to public property (ie. burnout marks in carparks, side streets etc.) as well as the noise created.

the idea of fixing roads, driver training etc is a good argument against increasing speeding fines etc for driver safety on the streets. but if its to prevent hoon-like behaviour then the current laws introduced are, for the most, relevant and justified.

don't do stupid shit in ur car on the streets and no one will ever legally take it from u. then these laws are irrelevant!

oh this is so true, but....there r some cops out there who if u r in any kinda good looking car they will just pull u over be cause u looked out them.

it just like some of the bad drivers gave us a bad name, the same goes for cops, there r a few bad ones out there (all of them ) that gives them a bad name....

best things to do really would be four things.
1 go do a driving course and learn how to control your car in all conditions,
2 get your cams license..
3 behave on cruises
4 build up better publicity for cruises/scene
5 join parliament and change it.

i believe some ppl go over the top when it comes 2 cars, and yeah "hoons" do pose a problem. but i also think the police r 2 strict in some areas,, why cant i have a BOV on my car or a tacho on the dash?? just because ur car looks hot dont mean u drive like a dick head all the time..... for instance... a legal cruise with the police notified and raising money 4 charity. and ppl still getting booked and defected... thats BS.... go catch a murderer and let me have a nice looking car.

traffic cops are the lowest of the low... REAL police have my respect by a power tripping traffic cop is like playing fecth with a rapid pit bull terrier...

the lowest of the low is the motor bike copers in the sturt area, even it u look at them if ur in a hot car, out comes the serien and they pull u over, and i have been told this by a cop, not a bike one, but one that come to my house when i lived at marion when my shed got broken into and stoll my roll cab tool box $15000 tools gone, (now thats another story all 2gether).

its good cops i have respect for, not the ones that think there top shit additude from word go!!

what also shits me off is my ex's friend had her stereo a bit loud ( dont know how loud cause i wasent there), but she got a fine for to loud noise (thats fair enough) but the also gave my ex a fine for her stereo loud, when it wasnt even her, i know i it wasnt loud, cause i had not finished putting it it, so she got a fine for that , and she is been told if she is caught in the passenger seat, and the driver get pulled over for to loud stereo, she gets a bigger fine. cop that shit, i think thats going a bit over top if ya know what i mean

Thats stuffed up! I hate the police quotas. It was the end of the month and I was goin bout my business drivin to uni, and i was driving behind a cop. I drove directly in his tracks then he broek, pulled over till i passed and pulled me over! I got out the car (he hated that cos I was bigger than him and towered over him) I asked him straight out "what did I do wrong?" and he said he pulled me over because I went through a right turn only lane which was in the middle of the road and is purely a cutoff to make traffic flow easier. Mind u he went through it the same as I did, so I said "i followed your car exactly, so you did it to!" he did not like that and started givin me cheek... So i took him over to where it was and pointed out that every ma and his dog drives through it it makes traffic flow better how is that a criminal offence? He said "well I can't pull over every man and his dog now can I?"... Then after he was lookin through my car and trying to find something to defect on my car (stock commy wagon) he told me he was looking for a defect! what a dick!

I hate cops. I mean honestly i know a few good ones, and their good ppl. but most of them are cockheads. i have so many stories with cops, i even got one to threaten us! So we asked for badge number and he got scared, cos he knew he lost it!!

my clarion can have a little device which allows you to have headphones through it.. its got some dual zone thingo which lets you listen to a CD and the person on the headphones listen to radio..

even if u did use headfones they'd still find a way to ping u for it so there's no point in even trying! lol
