I personally love a late night cruise through Chain of Ponds. Its best when the air is cool and the road is dead. I dont get out of control, i just like to hammer through a few of the bends up there. Gorge road is too tight and dangerous for me, not much room for error. Lets face it, im not racing, and these are public roads. It pays to be sensible and considerate towards others.

Where are your favourite places??????????

and not to forget cork screw rd, but that is very bad rd

Yeah Corkscrew Rd is a bitch! Last time i went down it felt like i was going the whole distance on my front bumper

love those sweeping bends on gorge road. u can hit them with fair pace

only thing that freaks me about gorge is the fact that there's not a bar (yes pun intended) of reception down there.
but yeh chain of ponds gets my vote

yes, the hills are nice for a nice drive. obviously you stick to both the speed limits and your own and your car's abilities. its too dangerous and plain stupid to be racing in the hills, or any place other than the track. in the end, if more people drive dangerously, SAPOL will be on everyone's back and the enjoyment of a drive through the hills will no longer be there. I haven't done one for ages, price of fuel is nuts and my front discs need some attention first before I go for another drive like that

yeh thats the beauty of the hills, an 80/100km/h speed limit is rarely reached on the tight n twisties (ie. the fun bits) so legally ur doing nothing wrong. then its only a matter of enjoying urself while minimising risks; that is - driving within your limits.
we've got Malalla and AIR for racing, not the hills.

My favourite roads would be chain of ponds. I also love corkescrew but racing up NOT down. Down is too hard on car and brakes and up is just a grin!!

Both of these are even better and more fun when you have pace noted them all...

i really like my gorge runs, corkscrew etc, but nothing beats chain of ponds. up thru nortin summit towards lofty is tops!
i got my s4 rx7 off the clock on the freeway - 220kms it went up to...
doing that, 2-3am, with 10other cars is a top feeling!
stupid, silly times...

or a nice Nortin summit/Old Nortin summit road circuit...

Gorge road is awesome!

Chain of ponds has claimed so many cars.. but its a great road if driven propelry!
