This spring, anthems are delivering you a severe dosage in hardcore for all you hard lovers out there. On Saturday 29 October at St Pauls, for your listening pleasure, we are proud to present Anthems: On A Harder Tip. Representing the old school, Angu$, Noddy, Mr S, H-Bomb and DJ Ben, battle it out with the leaders of the new school Hex, Propaganda, Ism, Tank, TDK, Tantrum and Equinox plus MCs Midnyte and Nickdub.

Pulling tracks from the vaults of days gone by, and some still warm from the press, we’re helping even the most reluctant of ravers embrace their inner hardcore demons. Tickets are only $20 available online right now at [anthems.com.au] or see a local team.anthems member.

H-Bomb29 Aug 2005, 7:06pm

This is going to be a night to remember, been waiting for this to happen for a very long time.

This will not be for the faint hearted, trust me ears and noses will bleed, stomach's will be churned and only the strong will survive

Rumour has it that i will be playing 2 sets, old and new

The old set i will be dragging out the much requested DWTD set, which i haven't played for quite a while, and yes this is the set that has "Cold as Ice" and 'Fuck you i wont do what you tell me" in it

So if you love your HARDCORE, then this is one not to be missed

DJ Ben2 Sep 2005, 6:12am

Cant wait to play at this party!

Getting excited already and still got another 2 months to wait...

jase312 Sep 2005, 7:16pm

this will be interesting
I have moved away from hardcore , due to my memories of the nausenbluten era
but I really miss the hard (hoover) sounds (is that the right word)
I have not been to a hard party for years
but some of the stuff DJ Ben plays is great (fresh)
so yeah for a while it seemed that BPM was more important than rhythm

so this party could be a catch up lesson for the oldschool, trance and house heads like me?

*smp*2 Sep 2005, 7:25pm

Or it could just make our ears and noses bleed, and our head pound in nasty ways for days afterwards that not even panadeine forte can fix ha ha ha.....GO HARD OR GO HOME....

I'm too softcore for this event I think.....

Maori Messiah3 Sep 2005, 7:31pm

*sigh*

*cuddle* better dance wiv me

Dub Emm
hey when you see me @ muntfest, which btw if your not at it will change the outcome of the night for...you

i will be very dissapointed

AND PLEASE EVERYONE COME TO MUNTFEST IT IS AN ALL AGES EVENT as long as your age proceeds 18 AND ALL OF THE MUNTFEST BIRTHDAY BOIZ WILL BUY YOU A DRINK [this is not true but just a sign for anthems members who do not bother reading small text or are unable to read small text SO COME TO MUNTFEST FOR FREE FREE FREE EVERYTHING<<also untrue

I thought after ONE I'd be all raved out for a few days and would have some relax/boring time for once .. but the moment the clock ticked over to Tuesday I was already pumped up for the 29th .. maybe it's got to do with the fact I've had my ticket for about a month already, who knows.

It'll be good to have a hardcore night thrown into the mix though, that's for sure - I've satisfied my oldschool anthems and drum'n'bass night needs .. now it's time to get a little harder

On A Harder Tip will be cranking into the wee hours of the morning like 5am... you'll be back well before that won't you?
Buy your ticket anyway! And go straight there when you get back! Thats what i'd do!

And that way, its win=win for you. You get to work during the day an dmake yourself some big bux... and then you get to party hard that night!

Trust me, you will not wanna miss this party.... I know how much you love your hardcore!

toby7429 Oct 2005, 2:19pm

yeah - what smp said! hardcore is how my metal-self moved towards electronic stuff ... a night out like tonite is at least as high energy as a good rock gig! these DJs got rythym like the best drummers out there and you can't beat a packed dance floor for that live-music feeling ...

let's get it on for harder tip

PaulHamon29 Oct 2005, 3:01pm

Great night team! Its about time 'On A Harder Tip' reared its ugly head again and exhausted all that attended. Great sets by everyone who played, especially Angu$. I haven't seen him put so much effort into a set, and enjoy it himself, for a long, long time. He was having a ball!

I've now nicknamed H-Bomb the 'Blue Vein Hardcore Master'. His set last night had a different flavour which only appeals to a select few but still contained the cheese factor to keep others happy. Great stuff mate. Im looking forward to banging out a few choons with ya sometime soon.

PaulHamon30 Oct 2005, 7:10pm

Hi all! was a really awesome night and definately some great sets played! Was good to meet some more of the team. See you all again soon!

Seven of GAFFiO30 Oct 2005, 7:47pm

I had a great night last night, its a pitty I had to go home about about 4am as my suplies for some reason made me more tired rather than makeing me bouce off the walls.

In true anthems style the place filled up pretty quickly after opening. it was getting quite busy in there. but luckly it died down just slightly so we still had the atmosphere of lots of people and you could still walk around easilly!

The music was insane, I spent most my time in the old school room and every 5 mins me and my mates would throw our hands in the air because an absolute classic was played! im disapointed I missed H-Bomb and DJ Ben (nice costume ya freak) as i am big fan. But there will be another time. LIKE AT THE NEXT anthems EVENT!!

I was impressed by the work of the lesser known DJs. When I was in the smaller room the DJing was of great quality with good mixing and track selection etc. that little dance floor was going nuts!

I also want to congratulate Emma (and everyone helping her) at the stall, Its look a hell of alot more profesional now. there was no confusion about prices or anything. It also looked good and didnt appear to take to much time to setup.

Again, well done to everyone involved, especially everyone that showed up and made it a great night.

Hope to see it happen again.

Yes good work mate

Not many people didnt have a sticker on them somewhere and if I saw someone with out one I went and gave them one. it was a cool little novilty that I think made everyone enjoy the night more. so many times I saw people moving the sticker to another place on the each others body etc. And had many strangers come up to me to tell me I had a sticker on the back of my head, or on my nipples.

How many stickers did we go though? and was half of that on you Foonji? haha u had been attacked. And Shagsalot also!

fo_sho_man30 Oct 2005, 8:09pm

foonji30 Oct 2005, 8:26pm

myself, was a combo of fo_sho, letmeteachyou and myself... i kept having people come up to me and poke every single sticker on me... about 30 of them... then i had others asking if they could take one for their friends, they were luvin it

Awesome night.

Funnily enough I spent most the night just socialising - catching up with old friends, and meeting some new ones (was excellent to put faces to names with some of the Anthemites I met).

It was just what I needed though, nice social night with a little dancing - because I know when December rolls around my body is going to get wrecked from excessive dancing.

Thanks to everyone who made the night possible.

I think it's now time for some hard-earned sleep; I only got a few zzz's this afternoon before going out again, heh.

there was just the right amount of ppl there too! not so much that it was totally packed and out couldn't move, but just enought so the floors were packed with ravers and the other areas had enought room to move and sit down! i dont think i've ever been to a better thoughtout, organised rave!

they were nice guys, stayed and talked to me the whole time i was there playing.. even looked after the machine for me while i ran outside to give my mate his ticket. i think it was about 1 or 2 in the morning.

speaking of which-
It's going to be a double cd set, one disc of cheesy UK hardcore the other will be full of the best freeform around. Both cd's will be full of loads of unreleased tunes from the best labels and producers around and will even have artwork. So if all goes well it should be available in local record stores late february next year.
