…
the reason Im a raverMy whole life I have had a huge appreciation for music. I listen to everything from techno to soft metal.
Depending on what sort of mood I’m in depends on what music I listen to. I have been through plenty of shit in my life and have found music one of the things that have pulled me through the tough times. Listening to people sing about their good and bad times etc has helped me to understand that plenty of people have been thro things similar to me and have dealt with it so I shouldn’t give up.
I never really thought much of dance music when I was little (but this was probably because my dad told me it was shit and wouldn’t let me listen to it). But I remember when I was a little older, I was sitting in the car waiting for mum who was in the bank, I was listening to the radio and all of a sudden Sandstorm by Darude came on (this is why I love this song). I sat there listening to it. It put a smile on my face and made me wanted to move to it- It was also at this point that I realized that my dad talks a lot of shit and that my opinions had never really been valued by him (even to this day).
I was at a point in my life where I was going thro a ruff time and wasn’t happy, and this song made me smile and forget my troubles (and it started my craving for techno).
Ever since then my appreciation for dance music has increased.
I think it is a great style of music that takes me away from reality and allows me to get lost in it.
I love all music and the atmosphere that comes with it, but the raving culture defiantly is the best – the music, the lights, the atmosphere and what could be better than going to an event and having everyone tell u how much they love u? and there is no where else u can dress up in bright funky clothing and not be looked at too strangely.
Thank you to every one in the music industry, you will never know how much I appreciate how much you all do.
