I use AVG *free* edition myself with no issues.. have tried AntiVir and found it okay, but AVG is nice..

I don't like Norton at all and have also used PC-Cillin and liked that..

I use eTrust and i think its great. I have never had an infection of any kind.
I get it through my work as part of the deal Computer Associates (the people who make eTrust(VET)) put together for the the corporation i work for.
I have used VET in the past and NOD32 but eTrust is by far the best. It doesnt do anything annoying like pop shit up and alerts etc. It quietly updates everyday. It just takes care of business and does what its suppose to do...

Highly Recommend!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nod32 is the best. It's subscription based. $90 for 2 years, which entitles you to latest versions of the application, and viruses. I had been trying out kaspersky, norton, mcafee and avg and they were all resource hogs, had annoying installations and other problems, eventually I tryed nod32 and it caught a virus... LOL... none of the others found it, only nod32. I couldn't find a crack for it (unlike the others) which detered me, but when I realized it was subscription based and cheap as hell. I bought it and it's made me the happyest man on earth. The end.

Oh, and Oldskoolie, I got no idea what you're on about nod32 doesn't have annoying popups if you select the option to not annoy you, or even notify you via e-mail. It also automatically updates online without having to do anything. Maybe you used an old version? Or maybe you're crazy and were trying to use Notepad? I'm not sure, what happened, but it has been the best for me.

Ive been using Kaspersky as well since i reformatted, probably a little bit of a resource hog when using the realt time protection on a slower computer though sad.gif

Symantec AntiVirus Corporate version 10

Easy to use, most certainly gets the job done, and low on resource hogging - in fact I don't even notice it's there.

i use synamtec antivirus server 2003. i have used other nortons antivirus programs and found they all slowed down my PC and i didnt like the way they worked, but server 2003 is great.

dont notice it running @ all, no slowing the PC down, even though its constantly scanning any new file u put on or of your PC and whats coming in from e-mail and web sites. and it slowly goes through every file on ur PC while its idle. its also handy having a 9 PC network @ home. the "server" part of the program is running on my server PC and that downloads the new virus definitions and hands it out to all the other client PC's so i only have 1 PC using bandwidth downloading definitions not 9 of em. (real handy on dial up)

and as 4 spyware i use microsoft Antispyware, Spybot search and destroy and spyware blaster.

pretty safe PC, and if i do think i went to a site that may have infected my PC like cracks.am. i do a windows system restore to the previous day 2 get rid of any crap i may have picked up.
