Apple has announced a new mouse tonight. "Meet the mouse that reinvented the wheel. The scroll wheel, that is. At $79, Mighty Mouse features the revolutionary Scroll Ball that lets you move anywhere inside a document, without lifting a finger. And with touch-sensitive technology concealed under the seamless top shell, you get the programability of a four-button mouse in a single-button design. Click, roll, squeeze and scroll. This mouse just aced the maze."

It requires at least 128kbps for video, so your basic 256kbps ADSL will work fine. 56kbps works for live audio with iChat too!

Eat that PC people.

Hehe soon I'll get to play with these new babies for work... I wonder how long it will take me to build a new image for the intel architecture... it might take... as long as possible... muhahaha
tangent23
just for those who haven't heard:

the new intel macs now officially boot windows:

Apple Boot Camp
http://www.apple.com/au/macosx/bootcamp/

biggrin.gif

plus there's virtualisation software that allows you to run XP from within OSX
http://wired.com/news/technology/computers/0,70604-0.html

foonji
could always run windows on a mac with Virtual PC smile.gif didn't take a intel chip to make that happen wink.gif
SUPERSHOOTER
But now Windows will run natively! So for all the Windoze people out there whinging about not being able to play games on a Mac! Now you can get an Intel Mac, put all your games on Windoze and then use OSX for everything else!

Yep, I was thinking what the???? But it will come in real handy when testing out websites you have built. A simple re-boot into the crappy Windows OS, test the site 2 c if everything works OK (most likely thing will be f@ck up - bloody Internet Explorer!!) , then re-boot back to Mac OS.

Surely no one would run Windows on a Mac all the time??? It would be like driving a Porsche with a with a datsun 180b motor! biggrin.gif

i think the 17" one does..

tangent23
we picked up the 20" intel imac on the weekend.. i'm a happy camper smile.gif

i probably should have waited for the next updates, but i needed a new comp at home for work..

set up broadband through the imac, the powerbook shares the internet connection through airport, which frees up the airport express for music streaming to the stereo.. nice!

it's nice being able to do graphics on a large screen, pb 12" screen is murder on the eyes and neck/back..

so if anyone wants any graphics work done let me know! wink.gif
foonji
i picked up a black macbook 13" last friday.... and my god, i'm in love!!!!!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
dj_moo
Waiting for work to buy me a 17" macbook pro - can't wait!!! The 13" macbook looks pretty sick foonji - I'm jealous!!

yeh, ive never been a fan of 17" laptops, just waay too big for me blink.gif but still are nice for those who want it.

after my ibook died earlier this year, i had to treat myself, living on a PC desktop and no laptop was killing me.

i love how easy it is to exchange my ipod when i have obviously fucked it up good and propper

seriously after a week of snowboarding mine wouldnt read the harddrive, within 2 weeks i got a completly new replacement at no cost

i love a company that is willing to admit they make a product that fails and thus accept almost any claim of damage, no matter how legit
tangent23
i've been playing battlefield 2 on my imac biggrin.gif

having trouble playing online though, have to wait til wednesday til my adsl rolls over so i can download the patches and see if that helps..

got BF2 with that pizza hut deal thing on at the moment, so it ends up being $14 on top of the normal pizza deal [~$34 all up].. it's $99 retail in the shops! good deal i thought..

constantly booting from osx to xp is a pain though

yep, it's sooooo useful.. you'll find it hard to go back to doing things the normal way after you've used it for abit and tweaked it and learnt how it works..

firing up apps and docs with a couple of keys.. cool
