A Busy Winter Program at Mallala!
G1 Drift State Championship - Round 2 (3rd July)
Around 2000 people enjoyed Round 2 of the G1 Drift State Championships
on 3rd July. It was a great day, with 45 drifters battling it out for
some handy prize money and the ultimate honour of being SA's best. It
was the highest standard and most entertaining day of drifting ever seen
at Mallala. The battles went into the evening and saw Christian
Pickering claim 1st place once again, followed closely in 2nd by Mark
Marcheson, and 3rd going to 'Mr Consistency' James Dean Mardle.
Burnouts also filled the air with smoke from the tyres of Summernats
Champion, Danny Smith, and his fellow Burnout Masters with entertaining
displays of thundering V8 power and tyre stripping action.
The final will be on 8th October.
Still to come.......

HPDC V8 Supercars + Yokohama V8 Utes
Round 5 of the HPDC V8 Supercar Series will be at Mallala in August.
The second level V8 Supercar Series was introduced in 2000 to provide
talented young drivers with the necessary race time to prepare them for
competition in the 'main game'. This feeder series has now become a
highly competitive category in its own right with plenty of close racing
and more than their fair share of biff and bash can be guaranteed.
There will also be a full support program, included a full grid of 32 V8
Utes. The Yokohama V8 Utes are well known for their entertaining battles
and warmed the Mallala crowds last year when they made their first
appearance. Other support categories will be Historic Touring Cars,
Commodore Cup, Formula Ford, Lotus Challenge, and the annual Muscle Car
Muster. These are some of the best support categories in the country,
and can be can seen live at Mallala next month.
