Hey all.

Thinking of buying a PDA. Want to use it more so for GPS as well as what it was designed for. What do you guys have? What you think of it? What do you use it for?

PDA's are a very short term toy. I've got a draw full of them. They last about a week before becoming outdated and too embarrassing to been seen in public with. You quickly get over their limited uses unless you need it for a very specific task (such as the GPS), more so than other toys

i've got a older style ipaq 3630, it currently has linux on it. my main use for it was a 'wireless ap stumbler' as i used to be heaving involved with Air-Stream Community Wireless Network ( http://www.air-stream.org ). but i havent touched it for a good 3 months now.

irc.air-stream.org #air-stream for all you irc junkies, come and say hi biggrin.gif we are a weird mob wink.gif

good point dav - had mine (XDA 02) its a mobile/PDA.

good for mobile pr0n, i had an emulator on mine and could play ps1, super nintendo games etc.
meh - was over it.
its just a compromise machine - i.e it does alot of stuff, but its shit at everything it does.

i had an old casio one i used for a bit, i liked it but lost interest when i couldn't get MAME to work on it..

something like the old apple newton sized would be better for me nowadays.. something in between a laptop and PDA..

hmmmmm, seems like an expensive toy that doesn't get much use.. been rethinking about that one..
