I was really worried after such a shocking start to the tour but the boys look a treat now.

Came out and absolutely dominated england from the very first over the other night and absolutely smashed those bangadeshi's last night!

I reckon that loss to the bangles was just the kick up the arse we needed.

haha dont be so confident yet. remember england was playing without michael vaughn who is a crucial anchor to their innings! i think it would of been a different story if michael was coming in at number 3 on thursday night! australia still have a long way to go on this tour and i still think england can win the ashes.

I have never liked to rate him very highly as i think his shit but gee's his done the job for us since his been back. 73 off 81 vs England and 5/18 vs Bangers and mash.

EDIT:- whilst your vince vaughan comment has SOME merit, same can be said with Michael Clarke missing from the aussies. So far (before the game in question) he has been our best preforming batsman on the tour!

What a game again by symonds! this guy is going nuts. I may have to change my opinion of him after this tour.

However for him to give up his wicket with a sloppy call/run out was very dissapointing. THe man is so hot no one can bowl him out. he gives his wicket up in run outs

Lucky rain saved us. could have knocked them over for not much again but i think we were 20 / 25 runs short of a winning total.

i said last night at work while we were watching it that all england needed was to get symonds out and the rest would collapse! i stood there going how right am i! 5 wickets in 4 overs! blew australias chances of getting a great total. in stead they were left with a total which was very do-able by england! especially with vaughn and strauss (who was looking hot before the rain) at the crease and pieterson and flintoff after that!!!

i was so pissed off! i got home from work at 4am hoping to watch the remaining 40 overs and the fucking rain!!

i was so looking forward to seeing pieterson bat again! im wondering has there ever been a player in one day cricket that has a average of well over 100 a game after his first 15 matches???

i only tuned in for the last 20 runs.. was definitly well worth the watch.. anyone else get the feeling the poms where startingt o target thebatsman so much more?? kinda body line series style...

of course they are. thats what makes them pussys! i cant recall 1 ball in kasper and lee's partner ship that was a good length or jsut short of one. everything was at the rib cage or pitched up coz they cant even get yorkers right.

there is such a huge difference in 1-1 or 2-0. just 3 runs could have ended the series and blown the wind outta their sails. im worried they are gonna be pumped now for this next test match and may roll us. about time our batsman started to stand up in this series. so far they have done sfa.

the batsman have definitely let us down so far.

tell me about it!, the only thing the poms r good at r hitting our bloody batsmans. Even still there not to good at that!!!

so much for having the worlds best batsman in our side. (hayden, ponting, gilchrist) all have been bloody useless when the pressures really been on. best two batsmen on tour so far is youngster michael clarke and ever reliable justin langer.

this man has copped much critisim in his career mainly because of his boring play and poor form in the early/mid ninties. however since he regained a test spot his game has changed and is now a rock at the top order and gets the run rate moving almost as nicely as some of the more higher accoladed batsmen.

the worlds best batters need to pull their socks up and stop playing like a pack of poms....

oh no, what a shocking first day! we could not take a trick! gilly putting down two catches, mcgrath bowling vahgun on a no ball... who later goes on to score 166!!!! could have been such a different story otherwise.

hopefully we can get these last 5 wickets cheap and keep them under 400. they score over 500 and it just about cancels out an aussie win option in this test

the forecast is sunny so i say australia will be lucky to get to 350. england will most likely get 250-300. then throw australia in on the last 10 overs of day 4. if that situation happens i think england will win! obviously australia will be hoping for england to crash all out for under 200. you never know!!!

shit the aussies are on the ropes. got 90 overs to survive. a win is basically out of the question as the soft cock pommys decided to bat all day and set a target of 425. will probably cost them the game in my opinion.

total of around 390 with an extra 7 - 8 overs at them would have been reasonable enough.

looks like poor warnie is destined to never acheive a test match century. having got out for 90 again.

Great to see Ponting stand up as a captain should and lead his team when they need him most!

Considering how England have managed to win a test by 2 runs and draw a test, with the Aussies playing absolutely garbage, and not having McGrath for the loss... Im excited to think of how the 4th test is going to play out with McGrath's fitness getting back up to 100% and hopefully the Australian batsmen can pull their fingers out and show the poms who they are really dealing with, instead of putting on a pathetic display.

I dont think Australia can settle with being 2nd best....

yeah well that is correct in australias case as a win would put them 2-1 up and in a case of a drawn series the ashes will held by the aussies who currently hold it.

if english win we still got one more chance to draw it, cant see it happening though. key factors coming out of that game are all hayden, martyn, ponting and clarke made a decent amount of runs. should hold them in good sted next test.

well it has been a great fightback by the boys. 4/222. only 30 runs behind now and as stupid vaughn made us follow on he has given us a huge chance of winning the game now.

if we can get anything over 180 runs ahead with warnie bowling at them on the last day an aussie win isnt out of the question.

I was spewing when ponting got run out. i was looking forward to another gutsy captains knock which he looked set for. was not once troubled in his innings and then got run out i thought it was over after that but clarke and katitch have stabilised

p.s i reckon vaughan is stupid for making us bat again ad he could have batted again, made 250, set us 500 for the win (will never happen) with 1 1/2 days to bowl us out on a deteriating pitch. the follow on only plays into the aussies hands by making them nervously chase what should be a gettable score with Warnie ripping it up

the final test shall be interesting... i think australia has been unlucky with alot of umpiring decisions... but now its crunch time we have to come out agressively and attack liek we used to!
