It's pretty east coast centric, but actually one of the authors lives here in Adelaide now - Dr Luckman - still working on research in dance cultures of all persuasions.

Hey guys, just on the book thing....

It is the perfect weather for curling up in bed with a good book.

My only problem is, I do have trouble finding boks that I think I would enjoy. Does anyone have any recommendations??

Also, if we have a few readers out there, perhaps we could create a "anthems libraby/book swap" so we can all share our books around?

What does everyone think??
Davinr
Vix is reading my copy at the moment, but the Celestine Prophecy is a great one for those who have any questions about the meaning of life hehe. I know a few ppl on here are already reading it
kandiir
I've heard this is a good book to read...

anyone have a spare copy?? If not, Dav can I borrow yours when Vix is finished with it?? Pretty please?
tangent23r

a series i reckon most clubbers/ravers would like is vurt by jeff noon, pretty out there scifi but with a future dance culture edge.. warning is very wierd..
kandiir
its been that long since i've read a book, I really don't know what I'd like!

A few friends have mention the author Ben Elton... has anyone read anything of his??

I used to read a lot of Stephen King as a teenager, but don't know if that sort of stuff would still interest me these days!

Argh... yeah I really need help on this guys!!

Yeah, no probs. I'll ask if she's finished with it. It's the kind of book that you go back and read again a year or so later, and that is where everyone is at now...a quick revisit

I actually reckon I may like them. I liked the movie... is that anything to go on??

How many books are there?
Harley
I think there are 6 or 7 by memory. The 1st 3 or 4 is what he had done in his life and the last few are fiction books. Thay are pretty good. If you read them you get a different perspective of the movie. If you wana borrow them i will lend them to you if you want. Its just my mate lost i think number 2 or 3 so you will have to buy it or borrow it some where else. Thay are only about $15. I dont have a few of the last ones cause the made up ones didnt really intrest me. If you want to borrow em just let me no

Cheers Harley, I reckon I may take you up on that!

My bf and I went to a Book warehouse on the weekend, and I picked up "Mao's Lat Dancer" by Li Cunxin. I'm only about 50pgs into it, but so far it is very interesting. Its a story of Li Cunxin's life, so far it has gone into detail about his parents arranged wedding, and then onto his childhood in a peasant village.

It really makes you thank the world we live in today, we really have it pretty good here in australia!

I will give you all a proper report on the book when I finish it.
