Apparently this one's true.....

DO YOU KNOW...the difference between margarine and butter? Read on to the end...gets very interesting!

Both have the same amount of calories. Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams compared to 5 grams.

Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the
same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard Medical Study.

Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods.

Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few only because they are added!

Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavours of other foods.

Butter has been around for centuries where margarine has been around for less than 100 years.

And now, for Margarine..

Very high in trans fatty acids...
Triple risk of coronary heart disease.
Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol)
Lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol) ...
Increases the risk of cancers by up to five fold...
Lowers quality of breast milk...
Decreases immune response...
Decreases insulin response.

And here are the most disturbing facts....

Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC.......
And margarine is initially BLACK, but it is DYED YELLOW to look like butter. These facts alone were enough to have me avoiding margarine for life and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance)..

YOU can try this yourself: purchase a tub of margarine and leave it in your garage or shaded area. Within a couple of days you will note a couple of things: no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (that should tell you something) ... it does not rot or smell differently... because it has no nutritional value, nothing will grow on it...even those teeny weeny micro-organisms will not find a home to grow.
Why? Because it is nearly plastic. Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast?

Share This With Your Friends.....(Butter them up!)

i concur!
kandii
I knew about the almost plastic thing, but the rest is kinda disturbing!! Glad we only have butter in this house!!!

If anyone has any other information regarding common foods we eat, PLEASE POST THEM IN HERE, as i am quite cautious of what I feed my son on a regular basis....

With all the incurrable diseases, and new diseases popping up daily as it is, I've always said its the fault of the crappy processed foods we feed our selves daily...

I know I'm not perfect, my body consumes its fair share of unhealthy stuff, but little improvements that can be made here and there are of high importance to me, and my family.

Thanks Tara!!!!

I don't eat either.... I have mustard is i want a spread on my bread... it's better still wink.gif

And here is a hoax one - proven to be totally untrue (I wonder what the "beauty brands" did to annoy the creator of this hoax??)

Lead is a Chemical, and it will cause Cancer. Recently,"Red Earth" decreased their price of lipsticks from $67 to $9.90, because they contain lead.

Please send this information to all your girlfriends.

Brand Names Containing Lead

1. Christian Dior 4
2. LANCOME 2
3. CLINIQUE 2
4. Y.S.L 5
5. ESTEE LAUDER 3
6. SHISEIDO 2
7. RED EARTH (Lip Gloss) 2
8. CHANEL (Lip Conditioner) 2
9. Market America-Motives lipstick 0

(If the number of lead is high, that means it's more likely to cause Cancer)

After this test, we found Y.S.L. lipstick is the most beautiful lipstick to wear, but because it contains lots of lead, it is not easy to "REMOVE". Everyone loves to wear lipstick, so now here is a test that you can do yourself:

1. Put some lipstick on your hand,
2. Use a 24k-14k Gold ring to scratch on the lipstick.
3. If the lipstick color changes to Black color; it means this lipstick has Lead.

Be smart everyone! When you buy a product, quality is very important

fo_sho_manr
lead is dangerous tho, I don't know the affect on the lips, but if absorbed into the blood, it can cause some nice side effects..

Mercury is another dangerous substance..

I'm gonna try the margarine outside trick, wanna see if any mould and stuff grows biggrin.gif

Here's one for you...

WATER OR COKE?

This is really an eye opener!

We all know that water is important but I've never seen it written down like this before.

WATER

1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to half world population.)

2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.

3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%.

4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.

5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.

8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50%less likely to develop bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day?

COKE

1. In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.

2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days.

3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.

4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminium foil dipped in Coca-Cola.

5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.

6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminium foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for sumptuous brown gravy.

8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:

1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis.

2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous Material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.

3. The distributors of coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!

Now the question is, would YOU like a glass of water or coke?

you obviously don't watch mythbusters! (monday nights on SBS)
They tried out all of these things with coke and the only one that was true was that it would polish chrome bumpers all the rest were bullshit!
Doesn't dissolve steak or clean corroded batteries, and doesn't work as a spermicide either! Personally i was dissapointed they took the risk out of drinking coke and its not so exciting anymore! LOL blink.gif
