What do you wear??
Im not a fashionista, but I think ugg boots are the funniest trend at the moment. One of the girls on big brother was wearing them with a micro mini the other night. That's one trend that everyone will look back on, in 5 yrs time and groan.
Where was your holiday? How different can it be?

Try visiting during schoolies week when they wear nothing LOL
First time I went up there for business during schoolies, our business associate lent me his HSV Grange Statesman to go cruising in.....much to the disgust of my GF stuck back here in Adelaide hehe

As you all know, I like to look funky, but be comfortable.
When I buy/make clothes for myself, I always ask myself "can I dance in this?" If the answer is no, then it aint bought or made....

thats a pretty good philosophy to have for wearing clothes.
Tho bringing it back to eskimopie you can dance in ugg boots. I reckon it redicoulous to match with a mini. I mean if its cold enough to wear ugg boots put some clothes on ffs.
I reckon its equally ludicrous when guys wear t-shirts & they got beanies on!!
make up your mind people!!!
*LOL IM RANTING NOW
Hmm... but in saying what I said in my previous post, I am a bit of a fashion victim at times !!!
To keep up with the trends you need to spend lots of cash and i can't be stuffed. I'll go out every now and then and buy something spesh but other then that i just buy anything:)
fashion? whats that? I've heard it costs alot of money tho
I am colourblind(when it comes to clothes) and have no idea how to match colours ...hmmmm maybe that is why i became a raver
I'm not a fashion victim, i find it real hard to find somethin decent when i go shopping, i prefer to wear something thats comfortable and practical!
My fashion trend atm tho is my jumping shoes (keep an eye out for em at anthems
)

shopping is only good when you can afford to buy everything you want not just the cheaper but not as good version then its like the best thing in the world.. and although i can be a fashion victim sometimes i always buy things on impulse because it looks so cool even if its the weirdest thing to wear...
I LOVE shopping!!
Last time I did some good shopping I came home with a new car
Fashion trends - I cant stand girls wearing the ugg boots with short skirts but honestly, each to their own. How boring would things be if we were all the same????
Wear what you want if it makes you feel good!!!

Haha... I have one! But not because it was fashionable, but because when I used to compete in rodeos, you actually had to wear one (believe it or not all competitors had a dress code - which included jeans, boots, cowboy hat, collared shirt and belt buckle.)
If the past 12 years, me fashion wearing has gone from gothic to grunge/punk to surfie to maternity wear to country to "RnB" style to comfy rave wear... in there somewhere is professional business wear, but that is only for work, and business meetings.
Ha, and the funny thing was, until about 3 months ago I'd never thrown out ANY of my clothes!!! so IO had all of these styles in my wardrobe!!
You own a cowgirl hat.....how come I never seen it
shopping... one of my favourite things

Yup - once you've got the new shoes, your old favourite jeans are simply not quite the right shade of blue to wear with them anymore, or the new shoes just HAVE to have a new length skirt to go with (because the belt-masquerading-as-skirt, mini, mid-thigh, knee-length, mid-calf, ankle-length, floor-length ones you already have aren't quite right.....)
Then of course you need several new tops to go with the new jeans or skirt (one for dancing in, one for going to dinner in, one for lounging around the house in and one for seeing your parents in) and then there's earrings, bracelets, necklaces, gloves, hats, scarfes, lipstick, eyeshadow and finally nail-polish that are absolutely essential or we'll look like some kind of idiot.....
No wonder all us chicks are broke!!!

Haha, I'd never actually told anyone I know in Adelaide about it coz I was a little worried about the grilling I'd get about it!
Its at my Pa's house, along with my saddle and boots. Decided to store them up there because I don't ever want to get rid of them, and they suit his house up in bute a lot better than they would mine!
And, saddles need to be oiled to keep them in good condition, and he has a lot more time than me to do it!
So, I am sorry guys, but I doubt you'll ever see me in my hat!

Yeah, Adelaide derros are tame compared to their interstate counterparts. We we driving up to a very busy melbourne intersection where two parallel roads merge with 2 cross roads. This derro propped himself right out on the pointy bit of the intersection where the two parallel roads merge, undid his fly and flopped out his tackle, then with hands located behind his head, proceded to relieve himself aiming out towards the middle of the intersection
Oh and his clothing style was the bomb...or was it that it needed a bomb? Those memory cells in my brain are not healthy examples after that exposure!

same, i hate uncomfy clothes. i dont really buy fashionable items, more the ones that are always around and can be worn anywhere anytime.
and i so hate those young teen girls that walk around the city on a freezing day in a mini, i dont care if they look good, they are dickheads.
while they are in a mini, im in trackies, uggys, and a jacket....dont care it it dont look good, at least im warm

You know what I hate the most? 'Larger' girls with either hipster pants or a low cut mini skirt on with a foul old roll of fat prominently displayed for all to see....wrong wrong wrong...don't they have mirrors?
I read an article in the Advertiser that gave it a name I liked - 'Muffintops' - coz the fat balloons out like the top of a muffin
They must be stopped

I am in total agreeance with you here....you can dress to flatter your body no matter what size you are (and I am certainly no size 8 supermodel by all means)...just coz Britney can pull it off does not mean anyone over size 12 should!!! All I ask is that they take a good look in the mirror before they leave the house - and it must be a full length one too

I like my Bonds tops. I've always worn them whether I have muscles or not. So comfy and cheap and they look good with jeans, shorts and dare I say (?) slacks.
clothes!
I don't tend to follow fashion, tho it is hard when there is nothing else in the shops to buy, but i usually just go with what suits me and what's comfy!
If i like the fashion at one particular time i'll wear it... If i don't like it i'm not gonna waste my money and walk around looking stupid just to be "fashionable".
Besides, i find no matter what anyone wheres, if they have the confidence to pull it off (and look comforable) then that's far sexier then seeing someone struggle in uncomfortable clothes just coz its "fashionable".

or the clothes out there are really, really ugly!!!! Not all styles suit all people so it's no surprise that sometimes you just can't find anything to buy.. especially with the way fashion is these days.. allot of it is just hideous!
or mini skirts or boob tubes or skinny leg jeans or midriff tops.... fashion has allot to answer for!!
or undies on the outside of pants
yeah but i bet you can pull them off babe... put a girl who's over 80 kilos into them and it vomit worth... stuff bulging out in all the wrong places.... it's just one of those trends that only suit certain types!

i could prob wear skinny leg jeans but just not my thing i still like the legs a bit flared or kinda bootlegish...
have a thing for singlet tops but trying to get out of it a bit... i own them in pink, blue, white, black... kinda sad!!!
love skirts in summer and def gators all the way
god, spare us, i don't want to see that...i think the most amusing thing bout fashion and style is that it's circular... so don't throw out your skinny leg jeans (i love them as well) or short shorts (definite favourite) cos they're going to be back in in twenty years...whether you'll be able to fit into them still is another question...

god.. nothing good came out of the eighties.. the fashion was all hideous all the time.. why people would want to relive the huge mistake that was the 80's i don't know.... I threw my fluro leg warmers, horizontal striped jumpers and acid wash too tight jeans out a long time ago in the hopes they would never come back... the world disappoints me so much sometimes!
I think this 80's revival is great... most of us have been throught it before, so we know better then to follow the trend, but it gives those who werent born or old enough to remember the 80's a change to frolic in the terrible leg warmers, acid washed jeans and horizontal striped jumpers... not to mention the:

Hmm...I guess that's the thing with fashion, things come and go, and come back again...
That's why you should always hold on to old clothes, becayse guaranteed a few years later they will come back into fashion.

In the world of guys clothes (in my opinion), it's important to own at least 3 decent suits. A navy, a charcoal and a black suit. Single breasted is the go but I see double coming back into fashion in the Euro market.
oooh guys in suits!! YUM~!
No brown suits tho... that's boring accountant stereotype...altho i don't know any of my workmates to own a brown suit - oh wait my manager has a brown suit but she's a bit....yeh.

Yeah...those guys are borderline gay or at the most bi or just very very metrosexual. It doesn't bother me though coz I can't wear sunnies
Those skinny-assed tight black jeans that emo's wear are pretty gay. Apparently the guys all go into places like Supre and buy the smallest chicks one's to wear. That's just wierd.

they rock....I used to have some in the late eighties, a black and a red pair, and wore them everywhere
So much of what I see in shops is C.R.A.P. and fashions are such a quickly passing trend, its better to work out what suits you (your lifestyle and body shape) and stick to it

So what's the big trend for Winter 2007 (guys & girls)?
TRENCH COATS!!!
Trench coats to the max! I bought mine from hong Kong, not even knowing that they were going to be "in" this winter...I don't usually follow fashion anyway
Other than that...Browns/blacks and greys I reckon...And purple shades...
Like I said, I don't follow it really, but I have noticed some things
Animal print is almost everywhere now too, in all sorts of clothing items and accessories...

Emo seems to be in now days...
Yeah.. i don't follow fashion "trends" either.. i stick to my own, but you have to follow fashion in a sense, it's pretty hard to get away from it when everyone is selling the same thing!
But i'm not to keen on the Purple! black, brown and grey i can deal with.. just not sure about purple.. especially as fashion is pushing towards purple tights this season.. don't really know anyone who could pull those off!
isn't emo more of a lifestyle trend as opposed to a fashion trend?

I like those things those girls were wearing in the fashion shows that they were showing on the news. Very short and showing lots of cheek. I'm loving these designers more and more
For us guys. I reckon suede and rollnecks will make a comeback but I'd rather just wear my hoodie and D&G jeans

nowdays it's turning into a fashion trend... i have a few friends who love the emo fashion and hate the lifestyle... some are even into the dance scene!

Yer I know exactly what you mean...I don't buy something because it's "fashionable", I buy things because that's all people are selling
Although I have to say that I haven't been able to find a handful of DECENT items at Supre for a VERY long time...I don't know what's going on in that store...I shop there alot, well try to, because their clothes fit me pretty well
My mum's into the purples this winter/autumn. Good for her
I have to say though, that I DO NOT do brown. Just like I do not wear pink. Fair enough other people like it, great. But I will not wear it. Never liked pink. Ever. Don't even know why. And brown. Well it's brown
I wanna know is there certain things that people wish they could wear? Like things that you see other girls/guys wearing but that you think don't suit you?
Yeah...pink or salmon? I don't do pink and I dont do fluro. Something about it that comes across as sorta camp.

I wear underpants!

Granted alot of people pull these colours off, as people pull off alot of weird trends. But it's not for me.
Brown is definately a colour i can pull off!
I don't think there is a colour i would NEVER wear, but i do tend to stay away from Orange (one of my fave colours but just doesn't suit me) and Yellows.

Meh to dita von tesse. She's alright, nothing especial.
mmm I wonder if anyone would have thought of wearing a trench coat 3 years ago? They have been for sale every winter season at various stores for the last 40 years...and only now they're in "fashion".

Yeah like 'cargo' army stuff, or eskimo jackets or asian dresses etc... all very seasonal but are around every year... Make your own statement i say.
Does anyone know where they are selling turtleneck jumpers? unfortunately Supre don't seem to be selling them this season, and i need to find a store that makes very small brands.. (ie not target, big w or kmart as they are to big)
what about target/big w or kmart kids sections then? Kids are pretty fat these days, so they should still be small, yet big
otherwise try harris scruffs- they usually got heaps o stuff..

i find the cut is all wrong in the kids.. i've still got a "womans" shape.. it's just small that's all! but yeah.. i might check it out and see anyway! thnx.
Celeste have you tried Valleygirl, Dotti, MCL/MCT? They might not have them yet, but keep an eye out. They're bound to come out soon I reckon.
I know that Valleygirl & Dotti don't have them out yet, but yeah, i'm keeping a close eye on those stores.
Stores like MCL/MCT make really crappy ones.. brought them before.. they are either to big or really thin and the stitching rips when you try put ur arm in the sleeve.

I'll stear clear of their winter wear then

I usually only buy jeans and cheap tops/dresses from there. Haven't had a problem with those things so far.
Yes.. their jean's rock! go FaceOff.. only $45 a pair who can complain!?!
But i've actually only just discovered how great Globalize is.. a bit expensive on something i know.. but some stuff is really good.. and you can find some good bargins there if you keep looking.
I've also fallen inlove with Adelaide Arcade (i think that's the one i'm thinking of.. where the cinema's used to be?) They have some nice little stores there one in particular called Juicy Peach. That's where i brought my one off jacket from. it's got some really nice stuff that you don't see in the chainstores. Plus i think there is a store there that sell's alot of Playboy stuffs. So i say definatly check out that arcade.
I don't have any current loves as far as fashion goes at the moment...
I have to say this.. i hate the trend girls are doing at the moment wearing summer dresses with long sleeved tops underneath!
IT LOOKS WRONG AND DODGY!
Can you not afford a winter wardrobe?
***
Ok, i get the whole knitted dress thing with the long sleeved top underneath.. but the pretty floral summer dresses with the turtlenecks and scoope necks, and even the strapless summer dresses over the top of long sleeved tops!
no no no.. definately not my thing!

hahaha i was talking about that the other week, everyone seems to of adopted their summer wardrobe by sticking a long sleeved top or leggings underneath it! its terrible!
thank God Chris took me shopping for my birthday. I couldn't afford winter clothes :S i had to wear summer tops with jackets and jeans that are falling off...
Got some wicked dresses. I love those tailored look dresses with the buttons
HOT! But thats because i have the shape for it. The last 4 years not much has suited me because i have curves. Also got some leg warmers!!! Bring out my inner rave to the street! And mega big jackets with large buttons... so warm and yummy!

Oh.. i love the big jackets with big buttons! that's an awesome look. Tho they tend to look a bit stupid on me coz i'm so small.. looks like i'm drowning in them!! hehe..
meh.. women with curves look hot.. you could get away with anything lauren!
Where did you find the taylored dress? i'm having so much trouble finding nice winter dresses.

er... good question! One of those cheaper asian shops sell them like MCL or whatever they're called. About $30-$45 depending on what you buy. can wear them with/without leggins/long sleeve top, short jacket long jacket... Boots, heels... AH! I'm a matching queen so having diverse clothing is great!
I got one of those softer material ones too in black. Almost everywhere sells them at the moment. So comfy! hehe

can i take your photo and put it on my phone for lonely nights
i got dav a few jumpers from Ed harrys.... boys jumpers are much better than girls... needless to say that he is now missing one
no worries ike
I have to admit that i have finally sucumb to the flats invasion.. as much as i used to hate them i actually love them now.. only specific ones.. i guess it depends on their look as to how well they suit me.. but i'm hooked.. my wardrobe will soon be all flats and very few heels...
Though I have to admit that I have always preferred my boots with heels.
But I too purchased a pair of boots that were flat, mainly so I could get more use out of my skinny leg jeans without having to wear heels ALL the time. Especially when work and casual outting were considered.
Not all that keen on sandal/dress shoes being flat though. My only flat open shoes will ever be thongs.

Yeah.. that's the reason i brought mine to .. to get more wear out of my skinny jeans! I'm also really getting into the "small heels" you know the boots and shoes with the really tiny heel on the back.. my ankles are so screwed from raving so they are much better for me.. seeing as i only really wear heel's at work or for special occasion anyway.
Yer I need a pair of shoes with, prererrably a small heel.
Come November when I'm 6 months pregnant I'll be damned if I'm wearing thongs with my 21st dress
So I've started searching hehe. Might as well start now!
I'm still not liking much of the fashion for winter. Grey, black or white colours. Boring.
Dresses with leggings, no thanks, what about my poor cold arms? I'd prefer long jumpers and leggings.
I'm liking some of the Spring tops I have seen around. Though if I wasn't pregnant I wouldn't. They're all frumpy around the stomach, which will suit me just fine

man I got a killa shirt from mambo a couple of yrs back - should go in again...usually get my stuff from yd.
..I am hating ALL the patterns on the girls boardshorts that are out at the moment.. had a quick look thought them yesterday.. and there are none i like!!!
(maybe i'm just to picky!?!).
Also, very unimpressed with the few stores taht are selling denim short shorts! $60 or more a pair.. i don't think so!!! Thank God good ol' Valley Girl are around with their good clothes at cheap prices!

When the trend of wearing a belt just below your breasts started emerging I thought it was wrong.
I just bought a belt for the exact purpose
I guess trends can grow on ya...

I got some nice white shorts today, white, wide but very pale pinstripe... will be great for summer nights
I have alway's loved the Maxi Dress trend, but all season i've never managed to find on that fit me properly, they are either to big, or they fit ok except the chest area where they expect a size 6 to have DD!!!
Anyway... managed to find a gorgeous one at a clearance store across the road from where i work my size, fits perfectly and on sale for $30!! w00t! I think i might go back and buy another one!
w00t!! Make that 2 new Maxi Dresses!!!

How cool... i put one of my Maxi Dresses on hold yesterday ($30 one) and went back to buy it today and... they had reduced the prices... so it was only $20! even better!!!
The clearance store also has some gorgeous black & white pointy toe shoes with three small buckles across it with a kitten heel! great for work again, only $20!!
Which clearance store is this that you speak of?
yeh please tell?
Greenacres Shopping Centre, cnr Muller Road & North East Road... I tell's ya it rocks!!
I'm in the market for some new designer sunnies.. can anyone tell me where they sell YSL? I've seen them online but have yet to find an Adelaide store that stocks the brand!
I'll probably buy mine either online or in Melbourne.. they are at lease $150 cheaper then anywhere i've seen in Adelaide!

Cece...buy them online. There are a few sunglass outlets down at Harbour Town but I'm not sure if they stock the Yves Saint Laurent brand.
I plan to buy them online, but i need to try them on.. i find most sunglasses don't fit me so i like to try them on and see how they sit before i buy them! I tried on so many D&G sunnies till i found the one's i have that fit nicely
Just brought some silver flats with G's on them... I'm not sure if they are supposed to be fake Guess shoes or another brand!?! but they are gorgeous and only $20!!
OK, here's my story: Looked at Valley Girl's online store, found some rad stuff on there. Went into an actual Valley Girl store, couldn't find the same items.
I've never shopped at Valley Girl before and would not know what size I am in there.
Can someone who shops at Supre and Valley Girl help me out here...
What is your Supre size equivelant to in Valley Girl? TOP SIZE ONLY

I shop at both places quite often and i range from a 3XS to XXS at Supre and that usually converts to a size 6 at Valley Girl.. the good thing about Valley Girl is that the sizes are still quite small so if you fit into the small sizes at Supre you'd probably do alright fitting into the size 6-8 (or XS they sometimes code them as).
Best option is to still try the stuff on tho.. coz you know how stores love to change the sizes of things!!

Right, so I'mma 'S' at Supre, so that would make me around a 10/12 at Valley Girl?
Does that sound about right?

Nah, i'd say you were an 8 the fit is looser at VG then at Supre who only specialise in ultra tight clothes! lol

Calvin introduced me to my new favourite store on the weekend.... a tiny little nostalgic store in Adelaide Arcade called 1920.
The name say's it all really.. old fashioned one off pieces. They get new stock in monthly and it's very expensive (by my standards) but i am in love and already making a list of all the stuff i'm gonna.... lay-by there! hehe

How much do you plan on spending on boots? There are a few nice ones at Betts and there's also a cute shoe store in the Adelaide Arcade where they have these gorgeous red boots for $109.
I need to update my style. I'm getting old and I need to dress like I look like I'm in my 30's instead of looking in my 20's.
Anybody know what somebody in their 30's would wear?
I normally wear trendy tracksuits for everywhere; and jeans and fitting shirts when I'm out. But since I'm getting older, I figured I'd better update my wardrobe

Where do you get your cardi's from? I've been looking around but i can't seem to find any really nice ones. I've always loved cardi's.. ever since i was about 10 and got rid of my last one i've been waiting for them to come back into fashion!
Not sure if anyone is interested.. but found a site where you can buy vintage clothes, copies and originals circa 1920 to 1960..
It is an American store so all prices are in US dollars and you will have to add US$22 for regular shipping, but where else can you find designs like these?

They were an absalute gorgeous pair babe.. and a bargain. and they look absalutle gorgeous on. we shall go back there this weekend
I'mma go shopping on Friday...And I'mma buy me some new tops. I don't have that many that I actually like wearing. I also need some winter stuffs...
Argh. Some things I saw Saturday night while out:
Girls wearing bras with corsets. WTF. You either have boobs or you don't. I'm guessing if you have to wear a bra with a corset that you don't. They weren't designed to wear bras with.
Girls with their bras showing. Like poking out the top of a shirt. On purpose. Not hot. It SCREAMS skank IMO.
Guys with the tight skinny leg jeans. Seriously, it's gone on long enough IMO. My theory is, the tighter the jeans, the smaller the package. One day scientists will link tight jeans on men to impotencey I'm sure.
Both guys and girls that don't dress for their body types. Plus size people trying to wear smaller sized items making themselves look far worse than they are. Dress for what your body type is, not what you want it to be. This also goes for "mature" men and women that try and pull off wearing something that the youths of today are wearing. Some, can do it. Most can't. Dress for how old you are not for how old you want to be. Some people take mid life crisis's or trying to capture their youths a bit too far IMO.
Argh there were so many poor outfit choices. I could go on forever lol!

Most can't. Dress for how old you are not for how old you want to be. Some people take mid life crisis's or trying to capture their youths a bit too far IMO.
Argh there were so many poor outfit choices. I could go on forever lol!

ROFL.. I went out with a friend a while back and she had her bra showing and before we left i'm like.. "Oh, your bra is showing" and helped her to pull her top up and then she's like "it's supposed to be like that"

It's funny. Everyone has different tastes, I know that. I just don't agree with them
I need some help.. i've never been to a wedding and was wondering what kind of dress i should wear!?! is a long gown to much? is a cocktail dress to sexy? i have about a year, but i thought if i could get some pointers then i could start searching for the right dress.
At this stage they don't have a particular theme to the wedding, but is there certain colours i should stay away from or stick to?

Dont wear white.... Don't out-do the bride. Dress concervative and you should be alright.
I don't know what the bride's dress looks like!?!
any suggestions on the following...?
GOWNS

Judging from previous experiences at being at many weddings ... Brides dresses are usually long and white
Both those cocktail dresses look ok. Black is too funeral-like though... getting married is a happy occasion... Black is a colour you just shouldn't wear to a wedding

Celeste, a medium length cocktail gown is fine. I wore one to the wedding I last went to. Something evening'ish. I think short is too short and long is too long
What kind of reception are they having? Church, garden, beach? The reception location has alot to do with the style you should go for.

Yes, if you know what the bride is wearing try to avoid that. I would also avoid a long dress if the bride is wearing a long dress.
I disagree with black being too funeral like. Last wedding I went to I wore a medium length black cocktail dress and so did the 2 other girls that were partners of the groomsmen. Matched their suits perfectly. But it was a pretty "alternative" wedding. (The groomsmen were wearing Chuck Taylors)
It all depends on what you feel comfortable in too! If it doesn't feel right, don't wear it.
I also had the "will cocktail be too sexy" feeling. But alot of the female guests were in cocktail and evening wear.

Now on the look out for a red silky Business Shirt to wear with my Burberry slacks. I think I've found a nice one in Forever New (i think, Rundle Mall) for about $60.

Yes I saw that picture. But a pic of an item of clothing without a person in it is very un complimenting...
haha.. yes true! I'll get a picture for you. It's also a bit of an odd colour in that picture.. showing it a bit more red when infact it's more a musky purple/pink colour...
Just purchased pair of JLo shoes for this weekend. Gold, very sparkely, platform and massive heel (wooden look) $190 marked down to $50!!

I've seen 2 i'd like to get but they don't say whether they ship international or not
I've seen 2 i'd like to get but they don't say whether they ship international or not
I got mine of Ebay. They always have great stock. Or you can try the Kathy Van Zeeland site. They don't ship to Australia, but they do ship to other courier companies that can then ship to Australia, and honestly.. all that is still cheaper then buying it from any store here in Australia.
DAMMIT i have seen a really nice overnight bag but i can't get it here!
where DO they ship to?
there are some people that are like a parcel forwarder... so say you want something from the states, you have it sent to this persons address then they forward it here... I know a few people that have used these kinda services and there are many reliable and reputable ones out there!
Nothing is impossible!!

That's it em.. if you give them delivery details for say FedEx or something they'll forward it on there.. and as long as FedEx are aware of it they'll in turn send it on to Australia!
There are also online stores that do ship to Australia, but they may not have all her stock.
http://www.kathyvanzeeland.com/
this site uses Ebags as their middle man (checkout) and although the site/company itself does not ship overseas it provides links to courier companies that do, see link below..

looks hot without the ankle boots
heels yes... ankle boots NO
heels yes... ankle boots NO
Say NO to ankle boots.
Especially if you are wearing black leggings and white ankle boots.
Some girls can pull off ankle boots, some cannot.

knee high boots is what this hot chicky around the office has been wearing
knee highs is better than ankles... ankles should be worn with pants and thats final
