My other half is building his website and the cheesefest is an event by venuetix, Yancey works there, does the sites and stuff....

why can't pregnant women eat soft cheeses?

high risk of listeria - resulting in contracting Listeriosis.

Listeria is a bacteria found commonly in soft cheeses, seafoods, preprepared meals, deli meats, ready made salads etc.

To a normal adult, if you contract liseriosis then you will just get flu like symptoms and will get over it like any common cold & flu - not harming you in anyway. In pregnant women, it can be harmful, even fatal for the bubs in utero.

A proper wine fridge.

I doubt you'll find one of them at this event. Most large stores like Harvey Norman, Harris scarfe, and big electrical retailers would be the way to go.
