I haven't been to a dentist in A LONG TIME, and don't know of good ones in Adelaide or my area. I've rang a government one which has put me on a lovely waiting list of 3 weeks for my wisdom tooth. I might just end up going to a normal one and i'm wondering if anyone has a dentist they TRUST, as i'm not fond of dentists, hence not going for so many years
I'm in the north east area but anywhere not TOO far is ok. Thanks

My bestfriend is a dentist. Details are below
Grenfell Street Dental Practice
Dr. Simon Lew
Ground Floor KPMG Building
115 Grenfell Street, Adelaide
(opposite Adelaide Arcade)
Ph:[phone removed]
He's really good as I was apprehensive about seeing a dentist after not seeing one for a longer time than Hayley. He's also a leader in new dental techniques and a lecturer at Adelaide Uni. GIVE HIM A CALL!!!

All I can say is DO NOT go to the one on Hanson Rd. Not that I think you will. Bet yer.
RIP OFF MERCHANT.
Apart from that, I don't have the card for my dentsist handy. But they are in Paradise I think

Is that with or without private health insurance? Coz that is fricken heaps
Which also makes me ponder...can dentists sharpen your teeth to make you look evil or put on prosthetics so you can have vampire teeth?? That'd be awesome but chewing things would be a pain.
Of course they'd be able to. But I'm not sure that they would do it just to indulge someones fetish/kick or whatnot

I'm sure there's a dentist out there who would, or probably better off going to a store/shop/etc that specialises in Body Modification.
Sharpening your teeth to points would be a big health hazard.. what's to stop you from constantly puncturing your cheeks/tounge, and even scrapping against your gums?
as cool as it sounds i think i'll pass on that!

But it'll be so cool for biting people. I could be the new Hannibal Lecter

oxford dental practise dont use drills or needles, which is a big improvement
well if you need teeth out they use needles , but for fillings they use a lazer
Oxford Dental? That sounds interesting what they do... Where can i find them? is there inf on them on the web?
Turns out I have to wait 5 weeks to see a specialist and then wait again to get my tooth extracted. Not to mention I already have difficulty eating, you'd think they'd cut the waiting period...

What exactly does impacted mean, as far as teeth goes?
QUOTE({Bunny} @ Jul 27 2007, 05:55 PM)
Well with mine, its growing at an angle towards my molar and underneath it as well. The tooth has come through the gum quite a bit but theres nowhere for it to go. Hence food gets caught in it etc. Its pretty much at a 45 deg angle towards the molar
Ah, I thought that's what it was.
That's what the orthodontist said my wisdom teeth would do when they came threw. Even had the x-rays to see it.
Mine, thankfully are coming through strait as
Just very slowly. So there's alot of broken gum work going on. But thankfully I don't have to have them taken out.
Impacted wisdom teeth are pretty common. I know alot of people who have had the same problem.

maybe thats why it takes forever to see a specialist.. regular dentists should learn how to take them out!
I am going to see my dentist next Wednesday as i still have 4 of my wisdom teeth.
1 is impacted and one is rotten with a hug hole. The other 2, well if your in there ripping shit out......
Take them as well!!!
One operation, one massive pain and one recovery!!!
I think I'm gonna be eating soup for a week!! or drinking that is!
Might be a good 8/10 on the T_E pain Scale..... Oxy Cod?

Oh and I'm 34... dodged the bullet for years... tehee... Oh no

i understand huni. i have to have 5 teeth out, 1 rear molar and 4 wisdom teeth. my jaw bone is on my 2 bottom ones and one of them is grrowing horizontal and its on my nerve... it took me 6 weeks to get into the specialist and then i have to wait 6 weeks to get them out. i am in so much pain that i cannot eat or sleep well. all this will cost over $2000 and thats not including my root canal that i have to have done.

Oxford dental practice is on oxford street at unley, right across the road from the unley shopping center.
I have to admit I avoid the dentist like anything BUT if i have to go i would only go see Tim at oxford dental practice, no needles for fillings and the best technology to make the whole experience less traumatic and painless.
