I know this probably won't work but...

My sisters Nissan R33 Skyline (turbo) was stolen on Sunday Morning (approx 1.30am).

It's a White R33 with Black fading to Pink tribal flames down each side. It is lowered with 18" Shadow Chrome 5 Spoke Wheels (low profile tyres).

It has a veilside body kit (with NO spoiler). The bottom of the front bar is black along with the bonnet. The back of the car has R32 tail lights.

****

We are under the impression it was stolen for parts. If you see it at any wreckers please contact the police. The engine is pretty screwed so at this stage buying any parts from it would be useless, and my sister is hoping to get the car back minus the engine anyway (as this will force her to buy a much needed new engine!)

I will see if i can get some photos of it, as the paint job was new.

No she did not have any insurance!

Thnx guys.. just keep an eye out if you could! smile.gif
~Em~
pics of the car would be helpful hun smile.gif
KandiRaver
Yeah, photos as soon as i can get some.. she only got the car back a week ago after they finished the paint job and never got around to getting photos... trying to get some off thoses guys and some random friends who have taken pics...

Hopefully will have some up soon!
Harley
Peices of gutter trash sh*t. Hope they get some unknown disease that the docs can help as thats what these type of people are in society, nothing but a horrid disease shiftyeyes_anim.gif

I hope your sis gets it back and these low lifes get what they deserve
KittiChik
omg thats nuts... and no insurance?? eeek!!! sad.gif

I think this is the moral of the story..

Sucks that it got stolen, thieves are bastards and so forth - but insurance does make a difference!
{Bunny}
Sh*t that sucks.

But how did they manage to steal it? Any evidence of them breaking into it, did she leave it unlocked or did they tow it away or something?

R33's seem pretty anti-theft to me. Could just be me being naive though.

I'll keep an eye out though!

nothing is anti-theft unfortunately.

Skylines aren't that hard to steal... depending on the security thats been added to the vehicle. ie - if you haven't installed an alarm and/orimmobiliser etc of your own and have left it as is.... its just as easy to steal as any other car

Insurance story...

3years x $1700 premium = $5,100.00
Payout = $5,000 - $1300 excess = $3,700.00

There for insurance would litterally have been a waste of money!

She thought about that before deciding not to go ahead with it.

she hasn't got it back, so she doesn't know the damage as yet, most likely they removed the door handles and accessed the locking mechanisim from there...
{Bunny}
Hmm...Yer I guess. Just something I know that led me to ask is all.
Jutsin
Fair enough, Celeste, I figured there would be a logical reason for it.

Having said that, I don't think I'd spend a great deal of money on something that I knew I couldn't insure (or that it was not at all cost effective to insure). I like the security of knowing that when the unexpected occurs, I'll be covered :S

I'll keep an eye out though, and my ear to the ground!

Who was that through?

Ace has a R33. Quite a nice one at that. No fancy pants flames paint job though. But yer, nice and modified smile.gif And his insurance on it is definitely worth it. He wouldn't do it if it wasn't and he made sure it was before he bought the car.

Those figures may have seemed like a waste of money to her at the time. But how much did she pay for the car? Now she's lost THAT much money.

Just baffles me that people can see insurance as a waste of money or whatever.

I knwo she doesn't have it back, thought there could have been evidence of broken parts, glass on the ground or something. But what you've said makes sense.

here is hoping she gets it back *cross fingers* might seem a bit unrealistic, but a friend had his one of a kind rims stolen from his S15, and he ended up getting them back...tyres were damamged, but other than that fine....

good luck with it

Ouch.

I'm not sure what your trying to say!?!

If she did have insurance then she would have been out of pocket for the cost of the car plus an extra $1000 due to paying insurance, coz the payout wouldn't have even covered the cost of the Premium for 3 years.

She was 21 when she brought the car and it was in shit condition.. that is why the wouldn't insure it for her at a better price. It woudl be worth more now, but seeing as she only just got it back before it was stolen she didn't have time to do anything...

given that the car has now been stolen babe, I don't really see the logic of that sentence?

I must say I agree with you there babe... but keep in mind ace is over 25, celeste's sister isn't - so that would make a massive difference in insurance premiums

Celeste... even though your sis says insurance is a waste of money, it goes down every year etc and it is much easier then going through the headfrak of having a stolen car, trust me, I know!

keep an eye open for it for sale, even interstate stuff.

one of my mates bought as skyline last yr.. so hot.. lol.. it was a stolen car though and now the police have had it for a lengthy period trying to form a case against the ppl organised in stealing it...

i really hope you can find her... try your hardest.. i lost my phone the other weekend and that was bad enough!

have you contacted all neighbours? put as much info out there as soon as possible, keep looking for it.

even if you have photos of before she was painted that would help slightly smile.gif

$1700 for full compo... but if she went with 3rd party fire and theft would not have been more than 500 a year... i pay $270 a year for 3rd party fire and theft on my turbo, and i'm under 23... means if my car gets stolen i get money...

thats what I've done, full compo is costs too much but 3rd party fire and theft isn't too much should have it anyway in case u crash into somebody with say a lambo or something expensive. just my opinion. But tongue.gif i know its hard to insure a modified car mate turbo'd his falcon and all the insurance company's bar shannons wouldn't touch it.

anyway enuf of my rantings, hope ur sister finds it smile.gif
NokturnL
Just car is a high risk insurance company, hence the higher premiums... they're a subset of aami i think it was, basically so that they can keep their stats good? they're the only people who insure turbo's for under 25 year olds, and they also insure modded cars.
Harley
Still if you find the gutter trash that did this, bust there knees with a bass ball bat so then they will have stuffed knees for the rest of there lives and they will think twice for stealintg a c ar that some one has worked hard for to pay for so then they cant run from the pigs or the owner if they get busted. Man these trash really make me wild. I pray to god for me never busting some one breaking into my car or muy house

And insurance.... Yeah rite there biggest crooks going around. When my house got broken into earlier this year they didnt ended up paying me a cent!! And ive been with these mongreals for years never missing a payment. There happy to take my hard earnent cash but shafted me good when it was time to honor me!!!!!!!!

thats a contradiction there... you said its easier than going through the headfrak of a stolen car... when you were insured, and your insurance took care of everything for you. Your car was found the next day, and returned to you three weeks later. AND you had a hire car for most of the time as well (which you overheated and possibly blew up) So you really can't say "trust me, I know" as you didn't go through half of the head frak that Celeste's sis is going through!!

Celestes sisters car would've been ripped apart for parts by now (sorry hun sad.gif )

very good point there. 3rd party fire and theft is always a neccessity, even if you don't have full comp. that way if you hit another car, the repairs on their car are covered as well - so your only loss would be your own vehicle's repairs.

same as shannons. dodgy frakers!!!
Harley
But didnt he get his cash or car replaced??? better then nothing like those scum bags did to me!
froggy
with Justcars i jheard that the max pay out for fire adn theft is not full replacement value or anywhere near replacement value
I tried shannons for someone with teh WRX and they said to be an enthusais (spelling?) you had to be in a car club!!
NokturnL
Just Car have options... mine is agreed at $3000 or u can have market vaule... Besides an R33 skyline can be insured for up to $12000.... My best mate Tim has his imported series 2 insured for $20, 000 agreed, nut cos his is loaded with extras.

my point is, you had insurance and are saying its a headfrak.

so

how is saying "it goes down every year and it is much easier then going through the headfrak of having a stolen car"

having a stolen car is a headfrak regardless of whether you have insurance or not.

Yer I know that makes a pretty big difference, especially with having a turbo. But still, if you insure a car for at least fire and theft you will get some money back. Now her car's gone and she'll be lucky to get it or the money she paid for it back. Sucks, but that's just the way it is.

And like people have said the premiums and such go down every year.

Still, each to their own. Every mistake made is a lesson learnt.

Don't live in adelaide if you want your car stolen or broken into...

I've had a total of 7 breakins in my cars while i've lived down here... 3 stereos stolen... all on cars that had alarms installed and parked in the eye of public... and once my whole car was stolen...

I had a stationwagon in alice springs, Custom Stereo in FULL view in the boot, for 2 years no alarm on the car, it was a Holden Comodore... not ONE BREAK IN!!

This city sux for breakins... My older middle brother has had his broken into 3 times twice the stereo stolen...

My oldest brother had his broken into twice, and had petty cash stolen and broken windows every time...

My parents were here in a rental car, which got Keyed, and tyres let down...

it's not area specific it's just adelaide in general...

Post a thread on skylines australia in the South Aust section. It might help- they generally keep an eye out on stuff like that.

Goodluck! There have been a lot of thefts latey, particularly of skylines and other imports sad.gif
waylander_jobby

damn that sucks, yea adelaide is bad for crime, had something stolen from a friends car accidentally left it his car when he parked in Crafers, wasn't worth much so didn't really matter. but adelaide parked my car down there all the time near uni never had a problem, although my speakers are all hidden and the rear ones look like really shit crappy ones so don't get stolen. also depends on age of car really older cars are easy to break into, my old xf could break into it with a blade of dry grass almost. so its really only the most recent like 1998 plus cars that are harder to break into. although somebody i do know left their car in town at a pub, came back out half an hour later and the immobilizer/alarm unit was sitting where his car was supposed to be

If that happened to me i'd be sittin on the front porch with a shottie. It IS specifc area's. I have lived south nearly all my life and only ever had one break in ( my car) and one stolen but i left all sorts of valuables in there so it was my own fault of sorts.... the only way to stop that shite is park it out of peoples reach. Lock your car away every night like i do and my bike is never out of eye's view when its out of the shed . That way if anyone tries to steal my shit i'll make damn sure they will be needing help to even go to the toilet for the next few months ph34r.gif i hate greedy people and thieves get a fkn job and earn it !!!!! lazy CNTS mad.gif
