Half price of what? lol... Do they match prices?
missvixen
half price computers.... as our prices are half the price of a new computer

why would we match prices? ...that really defetes the purpose of being 'half price' if we have to raise our price lol
overdose
No match pricing is when something is a lower price and you match, as you also advertise for new systems. I just got a new system in december so just seeing what it meant.
missvixen
i know what match pricing is lol... my point is our prices are lower anyways..... but i dont think we would match prices.. you will have to check on dav with that

the new systems are seperate... they are still lower than retail i think, but they are not half price due to the cost of the systems whole sale... there isnt much margin on a new system

come in and say hello... dav can answer all your questions smile.gif

or email us

Do you sell parts or only whole systems?
missvixen
we do both i think smile.gif
Trance_Eyes
awesome i am looking for a new mother board.... P4 2.4ghz with at least 4 pci slots.

and what are your 17" LCD going for stand alone?

Quote me a price for both. I don't live far away from the shop smile.gif

We do supply parts, new and second hand, but it's mainly about second hand systems - with whatever parts you want upgraded

e.g. buy a 2GHZ Pentium 4 complete system for $310 with an old style CRT monitor, and maybe upgrade it to a nice new 19" widescreen for an extra $280.

Almost all of our systems come with a *GENUINE* Windows XP license... that's worth $200 on its own!

Trance_Eyes: Second hand 17" LCD panels are way too expensive in my mind. We have a few multimedia ones left for $185 that are only a year or so old. I usually steer people towards new 17" panels for around $249 or a 19" widescreen for just under $300

Were you after a motherboard and 2.4GHZ CPU or a board to take a 2.4? Which socket and memory type... 478 or 775... DDR1 or 2?

Do you have external hard drives for sale Dav? If so, how much (I am having a music storage space crisis) biggrin.gif

There are a whole range of external hard drives depending on what best suits you. We don't have anything second hand atm, but here's some ideas for new....

Most common Standard 5.25" USB
Pros - drives for them are cheap..... meaning the complete kit comes in under $130 for 80GB and less than $195 for a 300GB. Some even come with a network connection so they plug into your network and become a file server to multiple computers and doesn't need plugging in via USB... add about $50 for that.
Cons - big, requires external power supply, reliability is questionable across most brands

Mini 2.5"
Pros - powered off the USB so no lumpy power supplies required, small enough for your pocket
Cons - takes the more expensive laptop drives limiting them in capacity to about 120GB atm. Complete high quality kit with 120GB drive is $195. Cheap crap version is about $30 less.

Have you thought about using a $50 DVD burner and a few 50c blank DVD's. It's much cheaper and gives you almost limitless expandability. You can lend a disc to your friends without having to hand over your entire collection, you can throw it in a car with a DVD/MP3 player, and it fails, you only loose a small portion of your music.

Food for thought headphone.gif

hey dude,

all good smile.gif I'm still rying to work out what the mother board is but i think it's a 1.6GHZ not sure about 478 or 775 and i think it's ddr2 but i'd have to check the ram stick to be sure.

When i got the pc my mate said he gave me the book with all the details but he never did and he can't find it. So anyones guess. Not sure if i can even just upgrade the cpu or not??? so it may mean a whole new mother board. winksmiley02.gif

Btw i have an extrenal usb hDD... it's crap!!! don't bother. The only thing good was i ended up taking the 300gig HDD out and i have a inter changeable slot for my back up drive. So the drive is still useful but the usb housing sucks ass!!!!

Just get another HDD and put it in your pc as a slave is my advice!!!

Just get a decent hard drive enclosure.

Ive used many brands of enclosure and they have all worked fine.. Just because it sucked ass for you, doesnt mean it sucks ass for everyone. Putting a larger drive in your computer kind of defeats the purpose of portability.

Open up the side of your pc and write down the model number and brand of you're mother board, then google it and you'll be able to find all the info you need for Ram type, Socket, etc..

I.6mhz i dare say would be running with ddr400 ram.

The store looks pretty good guys, i'll be coming to you if and when i need anything

congrats and good luck smile.gif

I have dozens of business clients who back up daily to rotating external drives, and the failure rate of the drive enclosures is frightening..... regardless of brand. The best run so far have been with the laptop size Fujitsu Dynadisc... no failures so far!

We're open until 7pm weeknights, so I figure that make up for the late starts. It's usually pretty dead in the morning anyway, and goes nuts in the afternoon smile.gif
~Em~
yeah I figured thats why smile.gif most people would find it more convenient that they can call in after work and not have to rush before you close!!
