Give Blood

hey. i want to give blood.... problem is i dont know how and i dont have anyone to do it with me.... i want to help but im scared.....

does anyone want to do it with me???

I'd consider it Shags but I'm more interested in extracting my blood and putting it in a vial to send outer space for an alien race to reproduce me and make clones of me and such and such

well that i can understand... we can never have enough sang's.....lol... its cool. its not for everyone, i just want to make a difference if i can... kinda freaked me out to start with thinking that my blood will be in someone else's body... but if one person can avoid bleeding to death just cause i gave, that will make me happy

Well I think I might join you for this. Who knows...it could be ourselves, a friend or our loved ones that might need blood and we'd probably be the only ones with a compatible blood type. Just think...the more blood types there are available, the better off we'll be saving another persons life let alone our own or somebody close to us.

i hate needles... so going adn pluggin myself into a vampire machine isnt realy my kind of awesome dream... but true... if it were one of my mates or family in hospital that needed blood, i'd have wished i did it...

I wish i could, but i found out i'm not allowed to give blood here... I was living in england during the "mad cow" thingo... apparently not allowed to give blood cos of that...

Yeah - me too! I always feel so second rate when I hear/see the "Please give blood" ads - apparently it takes someone special to give blood & I'm not allowed

Yeah...the selection process of being able to give blood is pretty difficult.

And theres a limit to the frequency you can give blood...

I was planning on heading in next week... I am already registered and I have just gotten over the last cold I had...

i have no idea how to do it... so if someone could tell me how i go about it then i could probably set a date.... how do i know if i can give?? i know im not excluded on the adds but there might be something wrong with me that i dont know about.... this will be my first time.

Go you guys! I would absolutely do this if I was able, the Red Cross lost a LOT of people with the Mad Cow problem, so anyone out there who can and does donate, you're doing a wonderful thing. It is a bit sad to know that I, or someone I'm close to, may one day require this service, and I can't contribute, so I'm massively grateful to those that do. Thanks!!

Also, for the girls out there, there are many girls who find out that their iron levels are too low for them to be able to donate, so by going and finding out and subsequently adjusting your iron levels, you might just find your general well-being improved by doing it, as well as all the good karma you're bound to get too!

ive been donating since halfway through last year, not as scary as i thought it would be as i hate needles. thought id do it as im o negative, which means anyone can use my blood. you should of seen the look on the nurses face, think she wanted to take all of it. lol.
just recently put myself down as a bone marrow donar now thats scary. it involves a day operation, plus three days recovery but you only have to do it once a year.

I amnot sure what quaifies you to give blood and all that but I know I had a bunch of things I had to go though to be able to give blood... My suggetion is that you give them a call, find out if you can or cant give blood and hten make an appointment

I am happy to come in with you shaggs if you like... I generally go to the currie st blood bank.. it is near topham mall really not hard to find.. same goes with you Daana..

if you two (and anyone else who wants to come) wants to ring up find out if you can give blood.. we see what we can arrange for a small group of us to go in at the same time... I am free most of next week..

Yep.. i'm up for donating blood. I think i should now be eligable with the weight i've currently gained.

Ok I have called about a booking for friday... they are very full on friday but they will do their very best to fit me in as I am in a special blood group...
