Might go check this out. Sounds pretty cool
ADELAIDE'S groundbreaking hip-hop trio, The Hilltop Hoods, is reuniting with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra for a rare concert in May at the Entertainment Centre.
The group performed with a string quartet at last year's ARIA awards in Sydney and now will extend the ASO collaboration to include the May concert and an album, featuring songs from its chart-topping The Hard Road reworked by the group and embellished by the orchestra.
The one-off concert will be on May 12, with tickets on sale from Ticketek on April 3.
Matt Lambert, the trio's MC Suffa, said after the ARIAs the trio was keen to continue its relationship with the orchestra.
"The composer, Jamie Messenger, we worked with when we did the ARIAs and we expanded it from there, saying 'Can you do these tracks so we can do a live show with a quartet?' He's done all the composition," he said.
"Having your music, music you've created, reproduced and added to by a symphony orchestra, really talented musicians and composers and conductors, is just awesome."
May 12 also now will be the release date for The Hard Road Restrung, the album the group is making with the ASO.
After the concert and the release of the album, the group heads overseas for live shows, including the Great Escape festival in Brighton, southern England.
